Thought we had a thread for this, but couldn't see it.
Saw one for Starling Bank where some woman in the queue at the bank flies up and shatters the glass roof. Surely she's now scarred loads of people. Found an extended version and she's even worse

All of them. All ads are annoying. The day I installed Pi Hole was a godsend. No ads on the net and none on More4/ITV player or any of the others either.

Can't stand those Just Eat ads with the robotic voiceover. They've been running for so long, just piss off already!

I've been listening to quite a bit of James O'Brien recently on LBC, so I've had to suffer the far worse adverts that go out on the radio. They are all just excruciating, but the worst is probably anything put out by Barclays Bank. Whenever they mention "money-verse" as if it is a term that people know and use I just want to start maiming.
I avoid adverts as much as possible and it puts me off watching most TV. I can just about bear it to watch Taskmaster, but pretty much everything else I will just not bother with.

I might have to take another look at pihole. Currently using diversion on my router which works for some stuff (no ads on my Shield TV home screen), but it's not so great for TV streaming services.

There's an advert doing the rounds on YouTube for something Google related that has ones of the shittiest uncatchy jingles I've ever heard. I can't even remember what it's for but I'm sure they paid someone a lot to write it. Plus it's Google so you can't skip it

I watch a fair bit of YouTube, so went for the premium plan (well, via India) The number of channels who started to shill recently to get extra ad revenue is ridiculous. I don't give a fuck about Squarespace, butcher box or that shitty gin that you're peddling. Don't get me started on those shitty looking raycon earbuds!

My missus watches some woman called Bailey Sarien and from listening she does ads with a bit of content between those ads.

Martin Kemp and his dumb son advertising Hello Fresh on YouTube ads. A right pair of cockney twats.

jono62That starling ad is awful. Firstly, even the traditional banks have pretty decent mobile and online banking facilities now. I haven't been into a bank for years. Didn't even go in when I opened my new account at a high Street name recently. Secondly I'm annoyed at the daft floaty girl fucking up all the paperwork for lols. Some poor cunt will need to clean that up. I mean, good for you if want to use a new bank, but you don't need to an be an arse about it. I had vaguely considered applying for an account there but that's literally put me off.

Shorter and skippable adverts and no news breaks very 15 minutes.

I ditched HSBC for Starling at the start of last year as the latter were ranked pretty high in a list of ethical banks. They're pretty good, as far as banks without a physical branch go, but then I hardly ever used to step foot in mine.

Kind of the antithesis of this thread, but here's a great rundown of how the Guinness 'Surfer' ad was commissioned and made:

That I can no longer share my pain in this thread is one of the downsides of leaving the UK.
Here there's a heinous series of adverts for ASB bank featuring a young couple to the sound of Jefferson Starship's 'Nothing's Going to Stop Us'. Ngghh.
And some horrible, horrible ones for a payday loans company. Grggh.

Trowel 🏴 - I remember seeing that ad for the first time in the cinema (possibly before the first LOTR film) and being blown away. Probably helped that I adored Leftfield at the time. It's pretty fucking good. Not sure Twitter is the right platform for that amount of info though

Last time I came back to the UK I was pretty shocked by how bad the tv ads seemed to have become. I always thought they were pretty good, with lots of good visuals or clever writing, but they seemed to have deteriorated to mainly cheap ads for insurance comparison websites.
Mind you, they're still better than ads in most other countries.
I used to love the Guiness Rutger Hauer ad where he was in the weird fantasy city. That used to play before loads of movies when I was young.

When you just had ITV and Channel 4 to aim at you needed to be on top of your game.
Now there are a bajillion channels and ‘influencers’ and net ads, the budget gets sliced thinner than Italian ham

Online sports betting just became legal here and it would barely be an exaggeration to say that every other ad on and offline is for a sportsbook now. But, annoying as they are, at least they're harmless. A little gambling never hurt anybody.

Smart Insurance I’m 32 and a non-smoker and statistically at low risk of dying, I’d like to sign up for insurance premiums that will increase year-on-year to a level that when I’m in my late 40s and 50s I’ll decide to cancel the insurance at a time when I’m at greater risk of dying so that I leave my family struggling for cash.

Invasive pop up ads on websites puzzle me. I don’t understand how they’re viable, and they must be, cos some cunt somewhere is paying for them. Who, amongst the billions of people on line, has ever failed to be annoyed by them? Other than accidental clicks when missing the ‘x’ to close them, how the fuck do they provide value to the fuckwits that arrange them?
Unless it’s all a devious plot by the ad blocking industry…

Click "Play" button on YouTube.
Download a free audiobook with your 30 day trial at Audible.com.
10 seconds of YouTube video.
That advert for Visit Qatar with the loud as fuck singing, that completely fails to mention the human rights abuses.
10 seconds of YouTube video.
Learn 100 fart jokes with TikTok.
And they wonder why people install uBlock Origin.

I'm aware that I'm responding to a five-month-old comment, but those Guinness ads were directed by Ridley Scott, which helps explain why they were so bloody good.

That Chris Ramsey and his missus' show trailer that keeps playing. Did they not even rehearse it once? They realise that those get played over and over and are supposed to make people want to watch your show right??
