Cool it’s yours bud. Send me your address on Facebook messenger and I’ll post it to you next week.
And thanks, yes the lighting turned out nice. The dynamic range of the 50R is pretty impressive.

Great shots. Were you in your ghillie suit?

Great shots. Were you in your ghillie suit? Thank you, yeah I was. It's the best thing I've bought. If you're careful about where you put yourself and how you move, they just don't see you!

Although the one in the second shot could tell something was up as I was hiding behind a random bush, ha. I've got a video of her looking incredibly suspicious and kind of pacing back and forth before hopping away.

i'm just blown away by these, fantastic. are you hiding in a bush, zen-like, for an hour waiting for deer to appear? or crawling - ghost recon style - on your tummy from the pub car park across two fields, through a copse, and into a bush to sneak up on them?
'cos on stompy walks round the cotswolds i see deer most days but never for more than ten seconds or closer than a hundred meters
and nerdy q - how long's yer lense mister?
(and because i'm so out of touch, are today's lense lengths comparable to ye-olde 35mm film days)

(and because i'm so out of touch, are today's lense lengths comparable to ye-olde 35mm film days) Thank you! And on that occasion more like the latter example. I saw them in the distance so spent probably ten minutes slowly creeping up towards them and using the available cover to my advantage. The key with deer is to stop and stay perfectly still if they start to look in your direction. It probably looks completely mental but luckily no one else was around. I can't emphasis how much the camouflage helps though. Things just don't notice you anywhere near as easily, obviously, ha. I had a rabbit walk on my foot once completely oblivious, recently a fox casually trotted by without a clue I was there, and as I'll post here at some point no doubt, a hare ran straight towards me in the woods, only noticing me when it was a couple of meters away. Those are kind of extreme examples, it's not always that easy, but the more you do it the better you get at it. So the lens I'm using is 400mm on a full frame sensor, with full frame being the digital equivalent of the old 35mm film.

16 Pro is a bit of a step up from my old 12 pro, North Shore from the other side of the water, Grouse and Fromme mountains in the middle

Yeah, Vancouver, with it’s famous yellow sulphur mountain at the shipyard. Another from further west in Kitsilano, downtown towers on the right and Stanley Park in the middle. West Van and the mountain range on the left/background

A few more. It's hard to choose tbh
And here's one from a city-wide flea market in Lille

Ordered the Nikon Z6iii today. A bit of a departure for me as I been shooting Fuji for 7/8 years. Been a little bit frustrated with my XPro 3 focusing of late. It just not reliable and it’s missed some shots I rather liked. Reading up online, I don’t know whether it’s the sensor/FW but Fuji cameras around 2020 seem to suffer from getting confused with focal distance, if you re-focus several times on the same shot in single shot mode it loses where it thinks the subject is at and doesn’t really focus on anything. I kind of gone from being able and to work around it to being frustrated. A real shame as I love the Xpro line (x-pro 2 is probably my favourite camera of all time). It probably did miss some shots but my Xpro2 just seemed to nail everything, if a bit slowly which is fine by me. Had the Xpro 3 for a while so got my use out of it.
I used a z6ii a couple of years back and was quite impressed with it, like the way it handled and put me in mind to perhaps get one in the future if my current system broke down. It’s my birthday next week so… yeah z6iii happened!

It’s my birthday next week so… yeah z6iii happened! Oooh, new camera excitement! I switched after several years with Fuji to Nikon (Z8) around 18 months ago for similar reasons. Doing more wildlife stuff I was finding the X-H1 to be quite unreliable. AF and tracking on the Nikon is a lot better, so no regrets. And the lenses are fantastic. It's extremely customisable too so I'd definitely recommend looking at some set up guides on YouTube to get an idea how you might want to lay things out. Funnily enough though, I'm looking at getting another Fuji (maybe the M5 that's going to be announced soon) just as a little pocket camera.
