First 2 issues turned up today! Not much content in the magazines, but the models are great and maybe I'll finally learn how to actually play W40K properly!? The next 4 weeks are really gonna drag I spent a while looking at the blown up pic of all the stuff that's coming. I *think* Rouboute is in there and if so, he's getting chopped into a Chaos Lord

Is it 4 weeks to the next one then? I thought they were bi-weekly? I'm only getting the first few.

I think weekly. If you're subbed you get 2 at first, then 4 at once each month iirc

Ahh cool, thanks. I just got issue 2 today, so I'll look out for issue 3 next week then.

Well balls. I shouldn't justify the expense but I've bought the first two issues so far. Decent models compared to my late 90s years collecting Imperial Guard. I'll probably get the first five and then rethink my life.

Is that a kit? Otherwise it looks like you cut up a load of expensive miniatures!
Looks good though 😊

Mechanicum Dominus! Looks epic, what are you going to use it as?

No idea ! Just wanted a big centrepiece for my Dark Mech, saw a similar design using thon reactor as a "plasma gun", and 4 hours of eBaying and £150 later, we're here.
I just like building stuff nowadays, but I suppose it could still run as a Knight of some sort.

Eldest and I played a few rounds of the scenarios in the first 2 Imperium issues. Nothing too complicated, but it should be fun doing the increasingly complex games every month or so

It's definitely a good friendly way to build up things.
You wait till they start seeing all the kits in a shop though, that's a slippery slope 😉

Both of my boys have a few sets - eldest has a mix of space marines, necrons and orcs. Youngest only has space marines. So far it's mainly just been about assembling and painting, which they both enjoy, plus we've played a good chunk of Blackstone Fortress. I've just been looking for an easy route into the actual gaming side - KillTeam is still my plan A, but slowly building up our skills and knowledge through the magazines should be good for getting into W40k proper 😁

With the Imperium stuff I will have spares that I am happy to part with (cheaply), if you're interested

I have to blame you lot. It started a couple of months back seeing the old EG thread but now I'm back in full GW worshipping again though it's nice to have some of the YouTube channels this time round. Oh, and if you haven't seen it, Duncan Rhodes' Kickstarter for his 'Two Thin Coats' paints range is going great guns after launching on Fri/Sat. Last time I checked it was at £760,000 of £35,000 asked for

I thought I'd use Imperium to build up a Necron and Space Marine kill team, while giving me a little painting project. It's not going to end there is it?
I've never even played Kill Team.

KillTeam is pretty accessible with the 5 v 5 skirmish and the Ork Kommandos and Death Corps of Krieg are a) excellent models, and b) very strong in their current iterations. Especially the Kriegsmen.
It gets more annoying having to buy the compendium on top to look up build lists for other factions though.

Not a chance. You'll see a picture of a shiny other army/model and the next thing you know you're snipping it out of the sprues.

Looking really good! I really like Space Wolves but I've fallen down the Ultramarines advertising hole.

For the 'normal' chapters - Space Wolfs all the way (although my avatar may have already given that away :-) ).
Otherwise Legion of the Damned and Grey Knights.

Dark Angels fan here, although I fell to Chaos a long long time ago.
Fitting, I guess

White Scars are very tempting too. Grey Knights would be interesting but the codex drop means they're annoying to find at the moment.

White Scars are cool, but painting them would, I think, drive me a bit mad

Cor, they're neatly done. Nice Thanks all - it's funny - looking at the photo, I've seen a few bits which need tidying up They're the Space Wolves from the Tau Killteam box set - I've really enjoyed getting the armour just right, even if the yellow shoulder pads have taken about 5 coats to get right! Although I've also got a few Ultramarines painted (from the Know No Fear set), I'm inclined to go with Blood Angels, as this is what I did when I was originally into Warhammer in the early 90s... Hopefully the quality of my painting has improved since then

All done in 3 months. Never wanted to paint white ever again. Incredible stuff! And all in 3 months!! The rest of the army (bikes, speeders, few characters) still linger in boxes to this day. That was 5+ years ago, such was my trauma. "White" will destroy anyone, even if I know now to paint extremely light grey and only highlight with pure white. As for yours, yellow looks smooth even after 5 coats, and most imperfections only show up in pics, not a few feet away at tabletop.
