I saw a tip somewhere - which I have yet to try - that a first coat/prime with a light pink really helps yellow coverage in fewer coats. I think it might have been Goobertown, who I trust to know what he's talking about

Yep, pink or brown under yellow. A white zenithal on that before the yellow coats will basically pre-shade it for you too.

How do you upload images here? Host it on something like Imgur and use that link. It's fiddly as all hell on mobile as you have to use the desktop version I believe

Nah. It's on top of an IKEA Kallax. The butter box is full of flock.

Tbh, it's a good place to keep them in between battles.
It's a bit like the fridge in Ghostbusters.

Looking good. Is that Ancient a conversion? Think I just put a different head on the Indomitus one iirc, no great effort put in.

Mmm, 3 assault intercessors for 9 quid? The value is definitely more of a challenge now on Imperium!

There's a paint as well to be fair (even if it is for smelly Ultramarines). But yeah, some issues are definitely better than others

Is issue 3 of Imperium out now then? Suckered in this evening while out, this is getting worrying. Kind of a shame they are cast as Dullmarines as I was thinking of painting them up as Blood Raven.

Get out the knives and sandpaper. Roboute is getting the treatment when he arrive.

Get out the knives and sandpaper. Roboute is getting the treatment when he arrive. Is there a sub-chapter to Ultras who share the same logos and such? I know of Novamarines and others, but that way I can avoid going default smurfs without having to slice up my miniatures.
I also have Warhammer+, which is surprisingly unshit so far. The animations are decent enough, but I find the battle reports quite enjoyable considering I'll never have the army or social group to play proper 40k.
I had a barmy idea to paint up the necrons in 'big tech' colours. Cos of satire and big tech companies are bad innit.

I'll have a flick through the Ultramarine Codex later but I think all successor chapters have distinct heraldry. EDIT: Not true. A number share the same heraldry but not sure about any Ultramarine successors in the codex do. You could always create your own successor chapter and paint scheme while using the ultramarine iconography.

From the official codex, the closest named canon successor chapter would be the Sons of Guillimon but it's embellished with a smaller 'u' with wings either side.
A custom successor chapter would be the best way then.

While I've been into games workshop games for years, including 40k, reading the magazine it says that there are around 1000 active space marine chapters each made up of about 1000 marines. That doesn't sound like a lot? Especially given the number of planets humanity covers?
