Oooh, the Octarius set is rather nice. I love the new sculpts, I haven't had any orkz in...probably decades now :/
The detail and how clean the sculpts are is v. impressive.
The terrain is cool too and the new alternate activation rules sound great.
Looking forward to getting these finished to play.

I've not got any orks, so am really pleased to finally have some, and these look ace. That said, I've only built the scenery so far, as I'm too indecisive on which unit variations to actually make - they all look great. I assume that from a playing KillTeam perspective, it doesn't make a massive difference...? In other W40K news - I've finally, finally, finished painting the Blackstone Fortress figures and am actually pretty pleased with most of 'em - especially considering the only stuff I've painted before are the Plague Marines from the Know No Fear box. Maybe I'll put some pictures up if I can figure out how... |

I built all mine last night. The moulds are so easy to join together which was refreshingly painless.
I just picked out the most interesting options for each as I worked through the instructions. The way the new rules build teams means you can do that without any worries.
They may not be the most min-maxxed teams around, but they're cool and that's the main thing.

Well, £30 in legs and Chaos Knight armour plates. Probably the same height again by the time I add the cannon based off a Thermic Plasma Reactor (it's a sideways plasma gun, really) and a platform for the crew on that bare front.
Trying to work out how to connect it all, and look good, is proving tricky.

Should get my first hit by FridayI've got Imperium coming too - is it 2 or 4 issues we're getting this week? (I picked up 2 first issues for my kids - the 2 models are pretty decent, but the mag is only 20-something pages) |

I don't think any value is ever ascribed to the magazine (although if -IF- you get the datasheets that's quite decent). All of the 'what do you save in £' articles/vids are squarely fixed on the models etc. Some issues are worth getting multiples of. I think 6 has centurions and 3 has slashy crons, for example. Worth picking up extras for sure even if you ebay em

Imperium Mag should be on my doormat soon, just got a confirmation email, plus a rather low quality mug. Anyone else subscribing? And would you be up for trading bits and bobs? First 2 turned up, along with the first freebie. £10ish for 5 minis, a (dreadful) starter brush, bronze paint, clippers, glue and the (useless) mould line remover. Pretty nice deal imo Oh and a few dice and tokens. |

Could be, I haven't looked at what they charged me. I just remember issue 1 is £2.99 retail and 2 is about 6 maybe? Bargain either way.
The mag value is questionable at best. No mention of priming, removing mold lines, no datasheets and very stripped back rules. I guess they don't want to overwhelm anyone too soon but feels like a few fundamentals are missing

I subbed for the Age of Sigmar one and it is the same .. drip feeds painting instructions and rules as you go along. Good for beginners I guess.
