When the rocket pack bounty hunter from the moon cut himself out of the giant desert vagina that he'd been pushed into by the space wizard, all I could think of is I hope they've got a dam good reason for this guy looking a bit older than he should.

maybe he was always old
He was absolutely useless in those original films. Built up to be a bad ass but gets eaten by a vagina plant in his one action scene. Maybe he's going senile and he forgot which button on his jetpack did what.

Clone ageing. Sure to be a part of the story
As will his Tusken friends. I reckon we have another few episodes of flashbacks.

You joke, but everything you mentioned is plausible in the universe that Star Wars creates, apart from someone looking old beyond their years... unless... ... Sith Lord... and he used a bit of lightning recently, ageing him prematurely. It's the only explanation.

TBF, we don't know how the various planets and their suns age people. Revenge of the Sith Anakin looked like pretty 25 year old Hayden Christensen. By Return of the Jedi, he looks like a 286 year old decrepit Eggman.

I know he was meant to be an unaltered clone but I suppose they could always just stick a line in about the cloning process not going perfect so he aged slower than a Clone Trooper but faster than Jango. That would definitely clear it up (not that it's necessary per se - I doubt many people are doing the math on it). Looking on Wookiepedia Fett is canonically about 41 or a little older at this point (born 32 BBY and it's set later than 9 ABY). They do explicitly call out both that he wasn't altered or forced-grown which is slightly awkward. I'd be unsurprised if the weird stuff with the tank turned out to be connected to some sort of issue with him being cloned. Weird stuff with the tank? if it isn’t clear, he’s using a “bacta tank” like the one Luke Skywalker was healed in from frostbite in Empire Strikes Back, so that the actor doesn’t have to wear white shit all over his skin to show the Sarlacc digestive burns.

Yeah, assumed that was just to heal him.

Average first episode, I did like the scene inside the sarlac though, always wandered what'd be like to be digested over a thousand years.

I may have been imagining it, but the pit looked much smaller than in RotJ

Maybe it treated itself to some labiaplasty for it's 400th birthday.

Who did the research on the whole thousand years digestion thing? Does that mean there's a part of the dessert with an asshole poking out through the sand surrounded by old bones?

I know what a bacta tank is, but I think there's a bit more going on there than just that. I guess we'll see. I especially think this given this is presumably set after the events of The Mandalorian (given he has his armour etc.), and he was unscarred in the Mandalorian, so the scar-healing presumably can't be the only thing going on. The show also seemed to be implying he was getting injured more easily than normal in this episode.

He was quite pale and scarred in The Mandalorian compared to his browner / smoother post-bacta self at the start of BoBF. I think the timelines are a bit weak (what did he do for five years after the sarlaac?) but I don’t think there’s any doubt that the bacta tank is about repairing his digestive burns.

Not watched it, so this is probably answered in the show, but how long was he in the Sarlac?
It seems that if he was only in there for a few hours, it shouldn't have much of a dramatic impact on his character, and it makes one wonder why he took so long to go after his armour. (Assuming he did, I'm a bit fuzzy on all the timelines, and I'm not sure how well thought out they are anyway).
If he was in there longer I guess it might have had a more profound impact on his character.

Anyone else think his new cleaned up armour looks a bit like plastic toy armour compared to its original look and the other Mandalorians we’ve seen?

If he was in there longer I guess it might have had a more profound impact on his character. It's unclear but the way it's done it seems like several hours but less than a day is probably right. It is implied to be quite a formative experience though, in both episodes. A figurative rebirth, as one might expect. Re: his armour, minor spoiler but I'll just go ahead - it was stolen (by the usual suspects on Tatooine - also lol Tatooine is in autocorrect in Chrome, and I sure didn't add it), and I don't think he had a clear idea of where it was until the events of The Mandalorian. This episode was pretty good, I think a bit more together than the previous one, and the flashback stuff was a lot more fun. I do slightly question the direction on the action sequences (The Mandalorian had a similar issue), because there's a lot of weird faffing around, but maybe that's just Star Wars for you.

I wonder how minutes in total he will wear his helmut. It was an okay episode but man is it painful watching Temereau try and act.

I think this is more enjoyable if you think of it as "what Alan Sugar did on his holidays".

Also, let's humanise the sand people, and just forget what they did to Anakin's mum.

So I guess snorting lizard is the Star Wars equivalent of licking toad.
I'm loving this show. Favreau has the Midas touch as far as I'm concerned.

Also, let's humanise the sand people, and just forget what they did to Anakin's mum. #neverforget Probably #neverforget isn't the ideal hashtag there given Anakin's "Sand People Genocide" response to that. Of course like anyone who gets "cancelled", he just turned to the Dark Side whilst moaning about how unfair it all was. (More seriously the Sand People here do explain that the various tribes operate differently and some are raiders, but they aren't - though this does sort of raise the question of why they randomly enslaved a couple of people.)

Well exactly - it's like they realised they needed to create sympathy in EP2 so they'll just come up with some weak excuse and hope everyone forgets how Boba got there in the first place.
Anakins response was proportionate, just like carpet bombing the nazis, or nuking imperial japan.
In other general thoughs, apart from Boba looking like Alan Sugar (once you see it...), this really is taking Mando's saturday evening western concept to 500%, and slapping the audience in the face with it just to be sure they got it. Russlin' up some horses speeder bikes, and then robbin' a train train.
