I thought this was a reasonable start to the series. But odd it was so short at just 40 minutes
I thought the flashbacks were a bit oddly spaced through the story but generally really good fun.
Looking forward to the next.

Really enjoying this. Also, like anything Star Wars it doesn’t feel like it’s shot in an ar room all the time.
Edit. 10/10 for harryhoursen

Main thing I can’t deal with is that I think Fett is meant to be 30-40 years old in both these timelines. Even accounting for being partially digested and excess sun exposure it’s hard to reconcile.
But I’m interested where they’ll go with it.

I quite enjoyed it. Can definitely see the criticism re the actor and having him huff about the place. But I liked the stillness of it and thought it looked good for the most part. Promising imo.

I liked it more than I didn't like it. It was too short but to be fair I said that just looking at the runtime without even watching it. And really hope they aren't going to run with the cheap arse prequelesque visuals. Even the fan service with UO was more of a nice touch more than 'a bit too much'
Still it's got room to grow and was quite fun. 7/10

Preferred the flashback scenes for the character building. Rooftop chases are as big a cliché as using a GIF from The Office, especially when everyone is going so slowly and the chaser somehow knows the exact route to take to cut them off.

Much like Boba's somewhat ponderous mobility, this felt a little sluggish.
I'm hoping for some off-world Slave 1 bounty hunting shenanigans as opposed to too much fat crime lord and tribute paying stuff, and remain optimistic that we'll see some more of that side - even by flashback.
The parkour sequence felt a bit dated and brought to mind Vic and Bob's 'Freerunning in the Urban Community Environment' piece.
The Harryhausen-like callback didn't feel particularly 'in Universe' but I'm not too familiar with the wider lore- maybe it is a known thing..
6/10 - not the kick off I was hoping for but will be tuning in regardless.

I thought this was a reasonable start to the series. But odd it was so short at just 40 minutes I thought the flashbacks were a bit oddly spaced through the story but generally really good fun. Looking forward to the next. Pretty much my feelings. Like a lot of Disney+ TV, it's excessively short, which is a weird thing to say about TV these days when so many shows are either hourlongs, or feel overlong even when they aren't. The Mandalorian often had the same issue. Unlike some I actually liked the parkour stuff because it'd been so long since I'd seen that and it was relatively well-executed (I don't get the claim that the parkour was "slow", that's a weird thing to say). I am kind of astonished by now... nice... Boba Fett seems to be. I expected him to be a hard bastard, or at least a bit meaner than Mando, who was already a jerk (broadly speaking). But he's calm, polite, eminently reasonable, doesn't like to hurt kids/animals. He's probably nicer than Han Solo for god's sake. Also Jennifer Beals looking astonishingly good at 58 jesus (playing a Twilek thankfully without the ghastly faux-French accent Filoni insisted on foisting on them in the cartoons). I am enjoying this whole "actors you never thought you'd see in Star Wars" thing that's happening now. EDIT - Ageing-wise, there's some fairly consistent suggestions from other Filoni stuff that clones age faster than other people though I'm not sure it's ever been explicit - but we see white-haired and late-middle-aged-looking clones in Rebels - 15 years before this is set.

I enjoyed it but can't see Fett lasting that long as a crimelord as he's fucking shit at it, he either learns fast or he's completely fucked.
How the mayor's representative left with his life and all his limbs after that insulting appearance was a sign of weakness.

I enjoyed the first episode, but that enjoyment was somewhat hampered by the fact that the night before I did several hours of Tatooine on SWTOR, so by the time I came to watch it, a part of my brain was whispering "I have fucking had enough of this planet."

When they did the roof parkour stuff, I thought "this looks like that one bit in Jedi Fallen Order when the kid from Gotham fought storm trooper on roofs." When I remembered that Favreau and crew use Unreal Engine in their productions, I wondered if they actually got the assets from the Respawn team and just made the ground level stuff Tatooine.
Oh and I really enjoyed the episode overall but this is where my mind went.

Perhaps they’ll explain why he’s even interested in taking over Jabba’s Palace. I might prefer a show about him hunting a particularly tricky bounty.

I’ve got no issue with D+ having some restraint in its running times after so many overpadded Netflix originals

Me neither, just might not have been their best move when combined with it being an opening episode that’s so slow.

I wonder if they will stick with the rebuild a criminal organisation plot.
Jabba didn't spend his days getting into blaster fights or punch ups and I doubt they dedicate episodes to Fett sitting about instructing minions in various criminal endeavours, so assume it will change tack at some point.

The action sequences feel so old fashioned after the pace and flashiness of Hawkeye.
I liked the Harryhausen moment but I’m bit entirely sure why they were taken on that journey in the first place.
Maybe they should have given us the first two episodes at launch. I’ve no idea what direction this will go in good or bad

I enjoyed all the flashback sequences, but the present day stuff was a bit dumb.
I don't know why they didn't just start the story after the Sarlacc pit and run with it, instead of using lazy flashback exposition.
I'm also not sure about Temuera Morrison as the lead. I just don't think he's a great actor, and brings zero personality to the role... A character study needs a character.
Hopefully he'll grow on me, but as we know so little about Boba Fett's true character, I can't help but think they missed a golden opportunity back at the Mandalorian stage to recast him and make him more interesting.

As a devout fan of Tusken Raiders, there was something so menacing to me aged eight seeing Star Wars, that left a lasting impression on me. They could easily have got a Man called Horse genre piece out of Boba’s time with the Tuskens.

I know he was meant to be an unaltered clone but I suppose they could always just stick a line in about the cloning process not going perfect so he aged slower than a Clone Trooper but faster than Jango.

That would definitely clear it up (not that it's necessary per se - I doubt many people are doing the math on it). Looking on Wookiepedia Fett is canonically about 41 or a little older at this point (born 32 BBY and it's set later than 9 ABY). They do explicitly call out both that he wasn't altered or forced-grown which is slightly awkward. I'd be unsurprised if the weird stuff with the tank turned out to be connected to some sort of issue with him being cloned.
