So is anyone excited about this? I really enjoyed the second series of Mando and they ended it really nicely with Boba and Smoke Show Fennic advertising BoBF
Will Boba have lost the gut in time for his own show?

Yeah I'm looking forward to it. The poster doesn't give much away though.

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.
This is all the info released so far. Says nothing of course! It will be a nice thing for between Christmas and New Year

I’d forgotten all about this but I’ll definitely be giving if a watch.
Are we getting Mando 3 as well or is that tale told?

Mando 3 is coming next year I think, along with the Obi-Wan show and the Rogue One prequel.
Really interested to see where all the Star Wars TV stuff is heading. I wonder if all the Mando-era shows are going to build to some kind of crossover event. But I do feel like they bottled lightning with The Mandalorian, so I really, really hope these other series are good.

If I had to list the characters I'd like to see a series about, Cassian Andor would be somewhere between Dexter Jettster and Aunt Beru.

In my head it's a K2-SO show and Andor is just along for the ride.

I think so far it's been pretty slow burning, so I'm not too worried. Of the four upcoming shows, only two of them take place in the same time frame. I know they've announced quite a few other series, but hopefully they'll be spaced out.
I think the problem with the movies has been not that they were doing too many, but they were trying to do one a year, so when Solo and Skywalker hit problems they didn't have time to solve them.

Why are they calling it a book when it's actually a TV show?

It’s just Fett sitting in that chair reading out a book.
Like Star Wars Jackanory.

They missed a trick by not making it about Chewbacca running a Ladbrokes… The Bookie of Wookie.

Not the most exciting or interesting trailer. Looks like clips from the first ten minutes of the first episode.

Gonna assume that Boba won't feature in Mando again if this is his adventures thereafter. Still all in on this. Live me some Boba Fett. One of the remaining things Disney hasn't fucking butchered.

Boba was pretty cool in the Mandalorian, and actually made me interested in him. I still think he's pretty shit in the original films.

Yeah I've never understood the appeal of him based on the original trilogy.
His helmet (ooooh matron) is quite cool but the rest of his design is forgettable.

And the Millennium Falcon, in my opinion, is a fairly crap looking ship.

Even as a kid I was mystified when I started becoming aware of the wider Star Wars fandom and EU, and people were obsessed with Boba Fett, who seemed to be a random idiot with a jetpack who got eaten by a big worm. But making the clones and him into Temuera Morrison was one of the few non-dumb movies of the Prequels, so this might not be awful. I hope it manages to avoid the slightly-twee tone that the Mandalorian accidentally stumbled into with surprising regularity though.

That largely depends on not making the series main macguffin a cutesy kids doll.

It looks awfully pants.
Showing so much or BF and him talking seems to take away his mystery.

I hope it manages to avoid the slightly-twee tone that the Mandalorian accidentally stumbled into with surprising regularity though. I wonder how much of it came from the action figures. Remember when everyone had dozens of the things, and every kids birthday party was just trying to give them a star wars figure that they didn't already have, and each card had an amazingly detailed bio of the character on the back. Back then I knew way too much about random star wars aliens who had appeared in the background of the cantina scene for about 1 second, because it all came from the back of the figure card. And the Boba Fett figure had a cool helmet, and a rocket pack, and lots of shooty things, and maybe even a launchable rocket to lose. Oh, and his ship was cool too. TBF, a lot of stuff in the original trilogy is just background stuff that gets shown or mentioned once or twice and never elaborated on. I think Fett was just one of the cooler sounding ones. I never really paid attention to him in the EU, except that one time he showed up in Dark Forces. Personally, I always hated Temuera Morrison in the prequels, though I can't really put my finger on why. He seemed a bit less bland and annoying in The Mandolorian, but he wasn't in it very much. But his performance in the prequels was always so flat that I can't see him carrying an entire show. Anyway, if I watch it it'll be for Fennec

Remember when everyone had dozens of the things, and every kids birthday party was just trying to give them a star wars figure that they didn't already have, and each card had an amazingly detailed bio of the character on the back. Ugh, jealous. When we were kids we got maybe one year where we got "Star Wars stuff", and then my parents moved on and we could basically only have Lego, Zoids, or other stuff you put together because it was "educational" (not that we didn't get enough presents, let's be clear - it just wasn't the ones we wanted - though I can tell you, some Zoids make you forget that pretty damn quick! Mmmm Zoids...). I did have an X-Wing though - it's amazing how still remember physical feeling of the mechanism that opened the wings (or the s-foils, sorry I think that's the technical term). But yeah it's entirely down to the action figures and the Holiday Special (which very few Brits saw). Personally, I always hated Temuera Morrison in the prequels, though I can't really put my finger on why. He seemed a bit less bland and annoying in The Mandolorian, but he wasn't in it very much. But his performance in the prequels was always so flat that I can't see him carrying an entire show. I mean, he's a good actor. We were obsessed with Once Were Warriors back in the '90s, even though it was basically a serious film about problems with alcoholism and domestic violence. So I think he can potentially carry a show. As for the prequels, it seems like Lucas lost whatever magic it was which allowed him to get good performances out of people. There are no good performances in the prequels, except, maybe Ian McDarmid - chewing the hell out of the scenery - and Ewen McGregor. Everyone else is well below their normal standard (yeah even pros like Liam Neesons). He managed to get a flat performance out of Natalie Portman, which takes some kind of effort. Jackson tried to compensate but ends up overacting. I guess Lee is also sort of okay but it's not Saruman or even one of Lee's normal characters. So given I'd seen Temuera in stuff before, and knew he could act, I didn't see his slightly wooden performance there as exceptional or representative of anything but "These fucking prequels man". I still remember seeing TPM at the theatre at Universal Studios in LA, it hadn't been out long, and I absolutely did not believe it could be as bad as the press was claiming. That's possibly the wrongest I've ever been going into a movie theatre.

Zoids were ace.
A few years ago, the Natural History Museum had one (the one I had!) on display in the dinosaur section.
The Speccy game had me befuddled for a while. Ours was a…backup…version and so came with zero instructions.
It took me months to work out that the reason I couldn’t get it to work was because I was selecting Option 1: Keyboard, which on further inspection was actually Kempston.
Doh!
