The second episode is much better. It's just a shame the guy playing Boba is so fucking awful. Also I think they've forgot he's supposed to be a bad guy.

His stilted performance and the mix of side quests and the way he pops his helmet every time he meets anyone to chat, its a bit like watching someone play an RPG

I don't know about anyone else but I always imagined Boba Fett to have veneers under that helmet.

He’s even building up his territory by doing all the work by himself like a vg protagonist

RE The earlier conversation about the aging, couldn’t they just say human looking aliens age differently to humans? They could even explain away the the humans from different planets age differently to one another due to evolutionary differences, time spent in space etc.
Did love this week’s episode, The man called Horse/Little Big Man vibe was nostalgia heaven.

What’s with Fett’s giant white teeth? I also could not stop seeing his teeth. Fantasy characters with inappropriately perfect teeth aggravate the hell out of me. I mean, they’ll put a medieval peasant in a makeup chair for two hours for scars and scabs but then you see teeth only the best orthodontist could create. Smear some cocoa on those fucking things between takes, it’s not hard.

Boba is a clone. The aging issue is easily dealt with by assuming clones age faster
It’s not like Dolly the sheep lived to a ripe old age

Hope the Tuskans story has been sufficiently told now. It's nice lore and all that shit, but it's outstaying it's welcome. Maybe they can pop up in a later episode to lay ruin to something for some reason, but otherwise just move it on. The production team doesn't seem to do A plot/B plot episodes well at all.

Really enjoying this so far, but to echo what others have said, I do groan whenever he takes off the helmet to talk to someone. It's probably because he doesn't have the ability to act well through gesture alone (unlike Pedro Pascal), but it really does diminish the menace of the galaxy's most fearsome bounty hunter.

I see lots of people/memes about how they are confused about Fett’s popularity when he was just a background character - he essentially had no character.
For me BoBF is starting from the last time we saw him, RoTJ, and giving him a character development by way of his Sand People story. Essentially this is his backstory. Who was to say he was a bad guy, or a mindless bounty Hunter etc? Now we are getting a full character and it’s interesting.

I'm confused by that first episode. It's such obvious shite that I can't understand how any of you wrung any joy from it. The music, in particular, was fucking awful. "Let's riff on Mando's theme, but ignore the minimalism of that and just have a flapping fold of scrotum dragged across the microphone." Pish.
The Gammon Guards (fuck trying to spell that right) were about the highlight for me. I'm going to have to be pretty starved of entertainment to bother with the second episode. The very definition of subscription filler, this.

I guess my point is they've took the easy route and made him some honourable rogue type character. So basically like every other protagonist in Star Wars. They had an opportunity to make something a bit different and have him as an evil fucker.
Although just having someone else playing him would have made a world of difference.

In other general thoughs, apart from Boba looking like Alan Sugar (once you see it...), this really is taking Mando's saturday evening western concept to 500%, and slapping the audience in the face with it just to be sure they got it. Russlin' up some horses speeder bikes, and then robbin' a train train. Oh? Has it gone back to the S1 Mando western thing? Suddenly my interest meter has jumped from zero to lots.

The sign language makes not a fucking lick of sense and I always get cringed out when a person goes full on native. All I see is this

I'll be seeing is her on the left for the rest of the day I think.
I mean what? Nothing. Carry on.
Going to be watching the first two episodes of this with the boy later. Reading the comments here has made me very curious to see what I'll make of it.

This could have done with a far better actor as Boba.

This saddens me as I thought he was pretty decent in Mando. Granted he wasn't in it loads though. Obviously can't carry a show. Shame.

I liked him way more in Mando than this. He's just so stiff and wooden. He's like someone's grumpy dad.

It helped due to the other characters in Mando but now he's just stinking up the screen by himself. It's not a terrible show but there's nothing of interest bar Matt Berry. The show needs more Matt Berry.

Matt Berry should have played Boba Fett.

Then they could have George Lucased him and a child version of him, still with moustache, into the Prequel Trilogy Special Editions.

Now that, I would watch.
Edit: What Decks said.
Further edit: In fact, given what's happening in Toast of Tinseltown, I would actually watch Boba played by Matt Berry as Steven Toast.

Being a Tattoine crime lord doesn't involve much work bar walking to the pub once a day. I know it's only episode two but Fennac seems totally pointless at the moment.

I mean if a Hutt can do it, it necessarily can't involve much work, hard thinking, or really anything but lazing around, being a perv and/or getting mad. I see the new Hutts have the perv thing turned up to "Lannister" already. Fennec is certainly in a very reactive "bodyguard"-type role so far, I think in part because she currently has to vanish from the story whenever there's a flashback, which is like 50% of the screentime - that should change at some point, based on the Mandalorian.

I think probably the fantasy sci-fi trope I hate more than any other is that one character can speak an alien language and the other English and it’s just fucking fine.
See, R2 and C3PO, Chewbacca and Han Solo, and every alien without a human mouth from the movies and every character with a human mouth.

Yeah, if it was realistic they'd have to speak English V E R Y L O U D L Y A N D V E R Y S L O W L Y! to get the aliens to understand.
