Well that's the season over and I really can't say the finale impressed me at all.

I often laughed at the stupidity of it, and occasionally groaned eg at the perpetual Star Wars death robots that can’t hit the side of a fucking barn, seriously how can they constantly miss a crowd of people slowly running away by massive margins. It’s impossible to ever feel there’s any stakes to Star Wars battles with robots or Storm Troopers. [/spoiler]but I enjoyed it well enough.

Boba is still shit and I’ve no idea who that person is supposed to be.

What person? if you mean the people in the post-credits scene, it’s Cobb Vanth in the Bacta Tank, and the guy who mods people (who saved the assassin woman) about to turn him into RoboCobb

What puzzled me about the episode is that everyone seems to have forgotten about thermal detonators, crowd of people behind a broken speeder? Rain those grenades on their heads. The battledroids missing absolutely everything was ridiculous too, they did more damage with their legs!

That was a pile of poop.
Mod squad. King Kong rancor. Biting Mando's head. Fennec playing Basil Exposition. Boba being a moron. Indestructo-wookie (good job they kept shooting his bandolier, eh?). Spin-move! Shite FX on robots, who couldn't hit a barn door anyway. Cad Bane not just instantly putting one between Boba's eyes. In fact Cad Bane sitting out half the fight when he could easily have won the whole affair by himself. Not sending in the dumb robots first. Gun swapping Teamwork (TM). Stupid doohickey mechanic lady has also outstayed her welcome.
Is this what Star Wars has come to?

Much like Mando, I was hate watching this, mainly for the production values. Think I am done now.
Convinced, if you stick your head into any Disney writing room, it will just be a bunch of Chimps sitting at laptops.
Do the decent thing, give all your shit to HBO.

I...I don't know who to blame for the levels of dumb in this. RR having spent too many years directing Spy Kids and Machete dross ? He's a long way away from the El Mariachi days.
I can't even be arsed typing spoiler tags.
Aside from the Ep5/6 Howard/Filoni combo, it's been a half-baked jumbled up mess tbh. Makes the weak episodes of Mando S1 look spectacular, if tropey, in comparison.

These Crewits adverts must’ve cost a fortune to put in the half-time show.

Dave Filoni had never directed live action until The Mandalorian but he's a far better director than Robert Rodriguez.

As someone who saw the opinion of the first 3 eps on here and decided not to bother which ones do I need to see in order to fill in the gaps before the next season of Mando? 4,5 & 6?

Just 5 & 6. That's the Mando/Grogu focused ones. 4 was...not well received. It did however, have a most gorgeous scene of Slave 1, if that floats your boat.

They really need to work on that Grogu walk animation.

Other than him getting the tuskan stick, there is no point at all for the first 4 episodes. There is no relevant plot or character development.

I was groan-laughing at every spin in the movie. Totally strategically pointless, usually at the expense of delaying their shot long enough to be shot themselves, if there was even the slightest sense of threat from the enemies. So basically, every spin move the protagonist team did (there were a bunch) only showed that there were no stakes in the fight at all.
Hopefully all the kids watching it will grow up thinking that’s how you fight, though, and the ones who grow up to join white nationalist militias will be easily gunned down by the cops because they are spinning before each shot.

Well it was very Star Wars, absolutely no-one could deny that.
For better or worse. Mostly worse? I dunno, I enjoyed it, but in a slightly perverse way, at least partly because of all the serious SW nerds no doubt grinding their teeth over it, and because it was just very silly. Boba continues to be incompetent, of course. Mando isn't much better. Good thing their armour works and at least they're pretty okay at shooting mooks. Fennec is competent at least, unlike those two dweebs.
Some fun/funny moments, too, but it was it worth the build-up? Why did we need a Boba Fett series? Couldn't we just have had like, a Star Wars anthology series which spent a couple of episodes on Boba?

I enjoyed that last episode but talk about plot armour.
Such a weirdly paced series to have those first four episode then the two Mando ones and then that big Kong Western finale.
Am I supposed to know what the post credit scene is showing?

I enjoyed it, I expected more somehow, and it missed a few beats that would have turned into a great episode. Overall it was just sort of adequate. Struggling to think of how or even if they'll stretch another season out of it considering all the adversity has vanished and it's all neatly ironed and folded away. I suppose the Hutts will be back or something.
Good thing Cad Bane got offed, he was cool and all, but he outstayed his welcome in the Wars universe.
Also can't help but feel Cobb Vance will get his own show given the ending scene.

Surely once he is melded with robot parts he’ll totally lose the ability to shoot a crowd of people in the back at close range.

That beeping as the camera pans away says otherwise. Little droid friend on the way ? And I've seen a lot of complaints about killing him off just as he was introduced from the non-nerds too. Lots of folks haven't seen Clone Wars/Bad Batch etc, and catering too much to obscure lore has been an issue throughout. Robo-Cobb vs Cad would certainly provide more fodder for the Marvelisation of SW and an ever expanding volume of mediocre shows.

Yeah agree with others. It was such a poor finale, that was keeping with the first few episodes. I normally hate the lazy developer phrase when it comes to video games but the directing in this felt so half arsed. For every moment I hope Bryce Dallas gets her own Star Wars gig I hope RR doesn’t get near anything. The Mando episodes where great so still excited for that I guess. But they should have just released them as Xmas specials or something Actually gutted they killed of Cad Bane. He was one of the few redeeming things of the show, but I guess as a western inspired show it needed it last shootout and I guess from what I seen it does end a much longer arc from the clone wars but he had a real menace about him and stole the screen every time he was on.
