There’s something near us that seems to be absolutely saturating 2.4ghz. Everything on 5 is orders of magnitude faster and more reliable.

Sadly my mesh can't separate out 2.4ghz and 5 (or choose the access point) so stuck with whatever they decide to connect to. The boy's PS4 is a particular problem - even stuck an access point in his room but it still tries to connect to another one miles away. POS.

I need the 5ghz for the mesh network to work (dunno it's something to do with the spec of 2.4 Vs 5 GHz that's needed for mesh) by I've turned off the 5 GHz SSID shown which was a *fucking faff* as I needed to manually identify the IP addresses of the mesh units and log in individually to change it off.
I found that devices connected over 5ghz struggled if there was even a very thin wall in the way, while 2.4 powered on through anything like something from Chernobyl.
That's possibly the most boring thing I've ever typed out.

I've had the Ace for a about a week now. They are really great. Sound Swap with the Arc works seamlessly and instantly. Not sure if I like the sound better than my DT1770. But for gaming when the missus is asleep they fit the bill.

£378 at John Lewis. Quite an aggressive discount so early in their lifecycle.

Stupid question: do they work over BlueTooth with your devices? And are they light? I have a pair of AirPods Max and they are bloody heavy.

Yes, I use them via BT with my iPhone and iPad. A quick Google says they're ~20% lighter than the Max. I find them quite comfortable and don't really feel them when moving my head.

Has the app improved much in the last few months?
I'm still tempted to get a Beam Gen 2 as it gives me the scope to add Era speakers down the line for surround sound, plus I can't really see anything that beats it from a price/performance perspective (can currently get it for £320 new).
Edit - Also, can I use a friends iPhone for the TruePlay feature as a one-off? I'm on an old phone with an old version of Android.

It's definitely better but still a bit laggy. Only have one product though.

The Trueplay thing would involve installing the app and linking it to the system - so possibly a bit fiddly sorting it out afterwards. But the actual tuning is a five minute job so should be fine
