Yesterday I tested positive for COVID, almost a week after JuniorFE tested positive, and today MuMFE shows a faint but definitely visible second line in her test. First bout with the virus for all three of us. Sore throat, blocked nose, slight fever (up to 37.8 C for me), general tiredness and some hallucinations during sleep (what little of it I can manage) that the missus attributes to me playing videogames (what do women know, huh?). Good thing is, because of my medical history and the bypass heart surgery last year, I was eligible for a certain antiviral medicine (PAXLOVID), which they sent me right away; crossed fingers it works... Junior seems to be out of the woods already

Aye get better jono and junior!
What's the likelihood of catching covid twice in 2 months? One of my employees, who's constantly got something wrong with him, reckons he might have it again after having been off at the end of August.

Since coming back from Spain I've felt really ropey with a cough. My wife and was the same but while we were on holiday and much worse.
Me, my and daughter all testing negative so guessing it's just the normal cold going around. Even though my wife was knocked for 6 by it.

Could still be the vid if using old tests. Crap at picking up the new variant apparently

Thank you all!
Aren't we supposed to get some kind of immunity after falling to Covid charms? A couple of care-free months would be good!

Should be good for 3-6months i think. Sadly, immunity drops off sharpish after 3 months.

I had Flu last week (at least all the symptoms and negative on a covid test) get over it for 6 days and today wondered why I felt shit again and tested positive for covid!
Obviously flu gives you no immunity to covid 🤦♂️

Partying like it's 2020!
Felt rough this week after sitting with my old man who was coughing a bit last Sunday, and seeing my toddler niece who was snotting like a trooper. Figured it was a cold, but the whole house now feels crappy. Tested and the Mrs is positive, I'm currently negative. Super.

I had it last week and was made to wfh most of this week until finally testing negative. It was fine, more of a cold with a few aches and pains etc for a few days before it settled. It did fuck over my lungs for a few days, but I would say mon to fri of last week I felt various degrees of shitty, but from the weekend on felt fine. Hopefully this means we are all getting used to each other, the virus is getting a bit more chilled and our immune systems are getting more used to it too. Mind you, I had it in feb/march, so it's looking like a 9 monthly-yearly fun session with it will be likely in future.

My missus has a stinking cold that wouldn't surprise me if it was COVID. She doesn't get paid for sick days and her boss doesn't believe in WFH (unless she's the one doing it of course), so she's gone in to work to spread it around a bit more.
Her boss is pressuring her to still come to their team Christmas do later as well. "You'll be fine after a couple of drinks"
It's like we've learned absolutely fucking nothing.

That's because we haven't.
And apparently there's a "mysterious new pneumonia" making the rounds in China and statistics starting to surface in some European countries too... Who's ready for a potential COVID 2.0, boys? *facepalm*

The one silver lining of covid was that it didn't seem to affect kids that badly- and this new pneumonia thing is apparently the opposite, hitting kids particularly hard. My son had childhood asthma - which thankfully he doesn't seem to get any more (he's 13 now, not had it since 9/10 ish) - but I'll still be worried if, sorry, WHEN it gets over here.

At least this time it's apparently attributed to existing pathogens and the increasingly loosening COVID measures letting the usual suspects back on the scene with a public that hasn't had them for a few years...
Still, the possibility isn't fun.

advise any with blood pressure problems to avoid watching the COVID inquiry today, where we are learning that Matt Hancock was the only moral courageous honest hard-working person in government and he did everything right and nothing wrong and anything which was conceivably misguided was the responsibility of other people and certainly not Matt Hancock who did everything right

Who's ready for a potential COVID 2.0, boys? *facepalm* I don't think it's a mysterious new thing according to people more educated than me as in the WHO it's consistent with a country that has had incredibly strict COVID protocols that would fuck them over later.

I was working with slightly outdated info (read: articles from a couple days ago rather than today's/last night's), I mentioned later that it doesn't seem to be a new pathogen yet from what they're saying

It's back in our house. Partner tested positive this morning (faintest line I've seen, but was there - the test's expire next March so wondering how effective they are) having felt rough since the weekend. I had shivers in the night, and am now aching all over but have tested negative. Really hope I have it now and test positive soon so we can do our xmas plans else that's the second year in a row I won't be able to take the kids to their grandparents.
I know more people down with it at the moment than I have at any time I can recall, seems it's everywhere at the minute

Yeah anecdotally I'd say I know of more people with it at one time than I did throughout the pandemic. Definitely spreading, let's hope those jabs do the job for the vulnerable.

We are a team of 30 people I would say that half of them have had it in the last month or so and a decent chunk of my family. Definitely more people than the plague outbreak.
That said, touch wood, the effects dont seem to be that much worse or long lasting than an annual cold/flu/rsv outbreak. We were hit by the RSV that went around last year and it was worse than the last time I had covid. I felt like hammered shit for a month.
