Yeah, but apparently it's bonded to the screen and will cause damage if removed. So if it gets scratched or cracked it's still a legit repair job. Plus I'm super cautious about these things and always try to look after my stuff.
Anyway, a second attempt and I've got the screen protector on almost perfectly. Which is actually a real moment of progress for me.
Also I am shit at Hades.

Still not sure whether to put a screen protector on mine tbh. I generally try to avoid it as devices just look better without one, and the screen should be pretty durable as long as you look after it? I don't think the dock scratching issue is a thing this time either.
Still loving the new model, but the improved bigger screen really does show up the lack of AA in many Nintendo games. Tried Mario Odyssey and the IQ in that game isn't the best in portable mode, probably because I seem to remember DF saying it uses a trick to lower resolution during movement to maintain 60fps.
Mario Galaxy looks absolutely stunning on it though!

Fuck it, I’m in. Better battery life than my launch model will be nice along with the screen

You guys won’t notice it but the side of the joy cons bug me a little, still. They are not one whole piece of plastic, so I can feel the line along the side where there’s plastic connecting.
The Lite was one whole plastic, not in bits. If that makes any sense.
Have a feel, run those fingers up along the side of Joy Cons, you’ll feel the line where they are fit together.

Switch Lite has a seam on the sides too i can’t say I’ve noticed it on any of my 3 sets of joycons in use, pretty much every controller in the history of consoles has a seam where the clam shells connect. If it really bothers you, unscrew the case and swipe some 4000 grit along the edges to chamfer them slightly

Anyone know where any of these are in stock? Or is this a usual launch dearth?

Couldn’t find any in stock at regular pricing, plenty of scalpers adding 60 quid on but I didn’t look massively deeply. Ordered through Amazon for a 1-4 week delivery which is fine for me

I would imagine there will be shortages. It's why I picked mine up when I had the chance, though I won't actually use it handheld until Dec.

Ah, what a headache Nintendo accounts are with multiple Switches. Unfortunately the wife bought some digital stuff for me on her account and the only way for me to be able to play them on my Switch is either using her account while 'online' or by making her account on my Switch a primary which then leads to no-one else on the family (tv-attached) Switch other than her... In other notes, I have tested the OLED Switch a bit on Metroid Dread and it indeed looks very pretty. Metroid is fun too. To be fair, only Microsoft has a better solution but that can be messy. How switch works is no different to how playstation works within same generation.

Stock drop in Argos. Ordered one on Tuesday as they said would get a delivery on Sunday. Looks like they dropped a few days early as I just got the collection text.

Yep. I bought one as a gift a couple of weeks ago. Seems like around launch and after, there weren't any, but then a couple of weeks ago I kept seeing them in stock everywhere.

Can anyone comment on local play.. we’ve got one of the original Switch consoles and just bought daughter an OLED one too. We’ve got quite a few games, mariokart, rayman, super Mario bros, super smash brothers, Mario party, animal crossing. Can the two kids play local multiplayer with just a single copy of each game?

Each console will need its own copy of a game for that kind of multiplayer, but all of those games you mention support multiplayer with just one console. You can just pair both sets of joy con to one console, be it docked or undocked.
