There is no charger in the box, unfortunately. I've heard rumours that there is a new type of charging protocol in play? I might be talking bollocks, but I'm quite certain that is a thing. And it is quite inspiring to introduce this new charging protocol with a model of mobile that is not compatible with previous models. Boo!

Gotcha. Tbh,I doubt you'll notice once fully charged and plugged in overnight. Very rarely have to charge my 5 during the day.

I can't even remember the last time I plugged my 5 in. Wireless charging ftw!

I can't even remember the last time I plugged my 5 in. Wireless charging ftw! I have a wireless charger downstairs but it's easier at night to plug it in and leave it on the floor (as I'm often awake early doors, scrabbling around to listen to a podcast.).

I do have one wireless charger which is the most fiddly thing ever. The phone has to go on it EXACTLY right. Suffice to say that it doesn't get used as much.

Can someone help me identify me an alternative app? Huawei's standard Gallery app had a decent editing suite, which allowed you to obscure sections of pictures with mosaics, blurs, etc. Good to block out emails, etc, when posting images to twitter. But there is nothing as easy that I can find. Does anyone know of an app that can do that sort of thing?

For the Pixel 6 crew. The on/off button is loose/wobbly. In fact, so loose, that when the phone fell off my sofa, onto the carpeted floor, the button actually came OFF! Is this standard? Is it worth asking for a replacement? Or should I just cut my losses and get a different phone?

Mine isn't like that so I'd say it's worth asking for a replacement.
The main issue I have with it is that the screen is very dark and I end up adjusting the brightness manually.
Finally gotten used to using gestures.

No, that is not at all normal from my experience.

Yeah, I'd definitely get it replaced. Hopefully an unlucky QC fail, but it's your call on if you want to replace or refund.
I'm not a huge fan of the gestures. Switching apps for example just feels clunky as fuck. Plus I keep accidentally going back. Much prefer Samsung's middle ground of having three navigation buttons in a specific place most of the time. It also feels weird coming back to my Samsung tablet and trying to use gestures on that.

If the replacement off button also sucks, I'll get a refund. Also, dfunked, re: your navigation issues, check this to restore the three navigation buttons.

On the gestures: I upgraded from a 4 XL so the gestures were already the norm for me. It did take me a while to get used to them on the 4 XL though.
I have a Huawei tablet that I use quite a lot that still has the classic 3 symbols at the bottom of the UI, and I regularly catch myself trying to swipe the screen to go back.

OK. After a few more days with the Pixel 6, I am starting to come around to its charms. I'll say this, the Huawei P30 Pro was clearly years and years ahead of the competition, because I still think it is better than the Pixel 6. So, I have to condition myself to living with a worse fingerprint reader and that charging my phone will simply take longer. It's all good. But because of my button issue, the 6 is going back and I will get the Pixel 6 Pro. I want to have the same experience as my Pixel bro dfunked

On charging the 6 Pro: I've got a couple of the older wireless charging Pixel stands which I use to charge it, but the time to full charge is noticeably longer than the old 4 XL (I've noticed they've released a new stand, so I may get one and see if there's any difference). If I want to charge it a bit quicker I use an official Nintendo Switch charger which works pretty well and will charge from around 40% to full in about 70-80 mins.
Definitely takes longer to charge than the 4 XL though.

Having the fingerprint scanner in the screen is annoying as you don't always get the right spot and it's not as tactile as having it on the power button.

Android 12 is really not making me its friend by and large. The UI seems to be somewhat clunky, it keeps changing back to the pinky colour, the wallpaper crashes and worst of all, the phone is really stuttering sometimes since it was updated.
It's annoying the hell out of me.
Factory reset and start again seems likely. Ugh. Although that won't fix the UI.

With the 5? Mine is still very smooth, no or few crashes I can remember. Turning off the bounce animation has made a huge difference to it's usability for me.

It's just started in the last few weeks. I've had no problems with several Pixels until now. Had a complete lock up on this one last week. Eventually it rebooted itself, but it was a surprise to see a hard crash. It might just be the phone itself of course. I've turned off the animations so we'll see if that helps.

So, the Pixel 6 return has been arranged. And as soon as Google themselves have stock, I will go for the Pro. I would like a funky colour. Now, I hastily bought an effing official case for the Pixel 6. Anybody here in need? I am happy for it to go to a Font Geek home, for the price of postage. Message me if interested.

Any recommendations for places to send a phone off to for repair? It's an imported Snapdragon S10+ from Singapore or something random like that, so doubt Samsung UK would want anything to do with it.
Plus I can't find the box and can't turn it on to get the IMEI...

Ifixit or ismash tend to be the go-to. Prob cost more than the phone though - ismash quoted me £100 for a screen and digitiser replacement.

Just ordered the s21 uktra for OH direct from Samsung as she wants to keep her Giffgaff SIM. She'll be going from the s9 (none plus) to it and it didn't seem that bad on some size comparison sites and also holding a few mock phones in Tesco earlier. The comments in here are making me think it'll be unusable for her though
