Not entirely 1:1 with Syria, but yeah. Some of those groups have been fighting with each other (and the military) for *decades*, and although they basically played nice when Myanmar was a (quasi) democracy 5 years ago, I've nfi how they're going to sort out their ambitions in a post-junta power vacuum.
It's stuff we really don't hear about that much. There was huge (and justified) international outcry over the Rohingya refugees, but they're only one of many ethnic groups in the conflict.
