I spent the second episode waiting for the power armour to run out of battery.
Great stuff so far!

The box with Jim's Limbs on it had me chuckling. It's application however, did not.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole series.
Would be amazed if someone wasn't already working on a Matt Berry AI Voice Pack For Mr Handys mod for Fallout 4 right now.

I liked the Matt Berry bits, but I wanted even more ham. Doctor Lucien Sanchez levels of ham. He didn't quite get there.
Also, there was something a little bit off about him in the flashback. He just looked and sounded wrong somehow.

Maybe the snake oil sales man should of been called Howard or Hines howard
Watched all of season 1 and overall enjoyed it, it felt like an fallout world, I felt near the end it was not as strong. Didn't like how vault tec caused the nukes to go off when there was peace talks as its always been china firing first but I guess they didn't want upset the real CCP and their real life hackers, also the line "I'm not a communist, Mr. Howard, that's just a dirty word they use to describe people who aren't insane" slight eyeroll there. Amazon makes this tv show and its one of the biggest product of capitalism.
Would of liked to seen more of the 50's retro style tech in the flash backs, I guess its too expensive to show more of it. Lucy was great character and Ella really nailed the wide eye naive vault dweller not being ready for the violence of the wasteland but she does learn from her past mistakes. Lets hope the series does not go the way of later seasons of westworld (s2 was a chore to get through after the amazing season 1)

Finished this over the weekend- I thought it was great. Without spoiling- I particularly like that it wasn’t just a “wasteland wanderer” type story, it could easily have just focused on Lucy’s journey from naive vault dweller to hardened wastelander, but there was plenty of other interesting vault-society stuff too. Definitely looking forward to another season. Edit- also, really enjoyed what becomes of Thaddeus, sucks for him because I like his character, but I can’t wait to see more of his involuntary human to ghoul journey!

apollo Yeah, my main beef with the ending was the whole "Vault-tec literally got the bombs dropped themselves" thing. I get that they're an evil corporation, but that is evil to an extent that I don't think makes much sense for them. I preferred the approach of not knowing who dropped the nukes, because in the end it doesn't really matter that much.

Dropping the fallout theme tune when Lucy opened the flag out was ace. I'm in the minority with most but for me Fallout 4 was a fantastic game

You're not the only one. 1068 hours on the PC version, after two complete playthroughs on the Xbox version. And I enjoy the settlement building.
Albeit with 396 mods installed at last count.

As I said, in a minority but I like for reason most people probably pan it. I don't care about a 'main' story. Fallout is all about going off in a random directions, forging your own path and discovering all the weird and whacky shit out there. Each building, settlement, cave, installation or vault you find is it's own little story with something to unearth or loot.
This is why I like fallout, and 4 with it's massive sprawling commonwealth did a great job of conveying all of that.
They fixed the issues with just hoarding loads of pointless stuff and lots of the shit was useful for crafting and even more so when you play survival mode. They also did a great job with the perks allowing you to truly spec out to the play style of your choice vats based killer or FPS sniper. The one thing it did away with by all upgrades being perks was the stupid allocation of points. Why the fuck do you allocate points to something if there is no perceived benefit until you hit some threshold that now states you can attempt to pick this medium lock. If I'm assigning points I want to be allowed to attempt it at all times but get progressively better at it nit have all points between 26 and 49 be pointless.

I don’t think you’re in a minority with that tbh. I think that’s what most people enjoy about the more recent Fallout games and by extension the Elder Scrolls titles. No one really cares about the story, it’s all about the adventure.
I think it was mainly fans of the original games and New Vegas or Die warriors that had a real issue with 4, and also 3 to an extent.

Here’s one for you. Fallout 76 is also decent. I've always wondered about that.
I know it got a whole load of criticism when it first came out, and they've obviously added loads to it.
Been quite temped by it, but always put off by the idea that MMORPGs seem to have to take over your life (though I quite enjoyed my time in ESO)
edit: ah fucksticks it's also been free on steam but finishing in a couple of days. can't be arsed with that

I’ve watched the first three episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them. I’ve never been a PC gamer so never played the original games, however I’ve always found the aesthetic quite delightful
(I did play Fallout 3 on PS3 for a few days but it definitely wasn’t for me unfortunately)

FO76 is decent and it's very easy to play it solo if that's what you want. It was so-so on launch when the only humans were other vault dwellers (which is when I played to platinum) but it was much better when I came back and replayed, at least until the point Fallout World's launched as I moved on after that to let the next lot of updates drop (need to go back to it actually).
I'm going to say it, I liked it better than New Vegas, which I find the weakest since FO3 🤷🏻♂️

I have a inclination to reinstall FO4 when the PS5 upgrade comes out, got about a quarter of the way through before it hit me it was not great, maybe I missed something, or maybe some of ya are delusional Bethesda took a wrong turn somewhere. Finished Fallout over the weekend, must have had something for me to burn through it. In the end I would give it a solid 7/10. Weird writing and tone at times, particularly the sex talk, must have made a few families watching squirm. I guess with the violence and gore it was aimed at adults but being based on a game, may have caught a few out. The final shot was intriguing.

It's based on an 18-rated game. If the kid is old enough for the violence then the sex shouldn't be an issue.

I can't work out if it's success has caught people by surprise or if number of interviews and other talking head pieces showing up in my feeds are just related to my interest in the show.
I will say though that there are a number of interviewers who seem to ask 'so, did you play the game beforehand?' in a sort of derisory manner. I'd want to punch them in the throat.

I'm enjoying it. I'm kinda annoyed they appear to have destroyed the NCR as it just grinds my gears when people destroy or reset growth in a story so they can do the original over. See also the Star Wars sequels especially the JJ ones. Who also blew up fuck loads of Star Trek continuity for no reason. This is especially so as I prefer 1,2 and NV.

Finished the show and can't wait to see what they do with it going forward. Hopefully not kill it.
As for the games, I liked F3,NV and F4 although NV was probably the weakest for me. F4 had it's issues and I did largely ignore the building settlement shite and the less said about Preston Garvey the better.

Needs more Matt Berry, though. Which I guess you could say about pretty much anything else in life too.

I'm really enjoying this show so far.
That's a really basic statement but I can't really read comments as I want to avoid spoilers (sure most people use the spoiler tag here but it's just easier to avoid everything until I'm done)
