Ahsoka finale was a shocka. not really, the various obvious cliffhangers played out as predicted, although the “to be continued” for Ray Stevenson’s character makes his tragic death even worse. Presumably this all gets wrapped up in the fifth episode of Boba Fett season 2

Wasn't amazing, wasn't great, just eh. So, I guess S2 will be staying in the new 'verse, Baylan going all Elden Ring, with whatever recast as he chases the sparkly mountaintop, his padawan becoming Bandit Queen, and some more Erock action as Ashoka delves into getting her macguffin method home ? Part of me would prefer Thrawn's version of her becoming Darth-like, would be a mental choice but fun.
And I guess that's Thrawn setup as big bad for Djinn, Grogu and Bo-Kotan around Mandalore ?
Nighttroopers sucked balls, no better than the norm, zombie Darktroopers way more fun, and the duels were awful, could see Rosario holding back, positioning hands weirdly in closeups. Almost as weird as the Nighttroopers awkward standing around. So yeah, I await some tuning in to Mando S4 going wait, who's this ? I needed to watch what ?

As much as seeing new Stormtrooper variants are one of my favourite things in Star Wars I was a bit disappointed by the ones in this episode. They didn’t really do anything.
I did like how video gamey it all felt though.

What an absolutely terrible series this was. Slow, boring, no sense of danger or threat, some of the worst writing and acting I’ve seen in pretty much anything. Plus they made everyone stupid. Direction was also hopeless.
What overrated, boring shit are Disney going to crap out next?
The Time Lord robot was good though and the grey Jedi were excellent.

Did it ever say how long they’d been trapped out there? The troopers had clearly gone a bit Heart of Darkness over it all even if Thrawn seemed reasonably chilled out.
They totally war crimed those Eroks, didn’t they?

And the armour cracks. Somebody in the design department saw an article on Kintsugi and went a bit overboard

I didn’t really get the red tape all over the stormtroopers Their armour was falling apart and being held together by tape. That is the real explanation.

They'd been out there for 10 years so them going a bit weird probably wasn't too unexpected, especially with the witches being about.
I enjoyed the series, bit too much preamble before the intergalactic jump and then it was over rather too quickly.
They'll have to recast Baylan as his story is very much unfinished and the shot of him on the Father's arm and that light in the distance will probably indicate how Ahsoka and Sabine return to the Star Wars galaxy (it'll be the WBW I imagine).
Couple of disappointments from the final episode, how the hell didn't they at least have a hug between two of the characters at the end and not even a damaged TIE Defender lurking in the hanger, come on Filoni, Thrawn created the fucking things.

I wonder if we’ll get to see Thrawn meeting Hux or Phasma before they kill him off to square the continuity with The Force Awakens.
They could even put an extra under Kylo Ren’s helmet like they did when Pedro Pascal wasn’t available to shoot the last season of The Mandalorian.

I'm not watching this, but is Thrawn turning up on a giant space whale from an alternate galaxy with an armada of imperial troops going to be how the New Order suddenly became more powerful than the Republic?

I thought it was a fun series, although I was frustrated with how nothing really resolved.
Also I really wish Filioni would stop trying to do politics; he’s absolutely terrible at it. The whole “green skin lady gets told off” was pointless. It was the same with the weird Coruscant episode in Mando.
Oh and while I’m moaning, enough with the samurai! Yes we get it, she’s meant to be like a romanticised Ronin, but do we really need “Zatoichi Style” and samurai bandits and a literal Japanese sword covered in fire?

And they really need to get new fight choreographers. Every Star Wars series has been similarly bad in this regard.
P.s I really liked the space whales and wish they would go “cosmic weird” more often.

Those scenes are particularly frustrating. Any character who is that vocally against the heroes is TV coded to be working with the bad guys but it never pays off.
That senator isn’t a ‘but he gets results, you stupid chief!’ hardass boss, he’s written as a wormtongue quisling.
In the end it just comes off as conflict for the sake of it.

Just been watching this (up to ep4 - never watched the cartoon). I thought "I like the actor playing Baylan who has presence and gravitas" - read up about Ray Stevenson and, shit, he died. What a shame. :-(

I low keyed liked this series and got on with it despite not seeing rebels and only seeing a few series of clone wars. Guess I just liked the tone and feel of the show. However the last episode was a bit naff. Resurrecting stormtroopers and fight choreography that just amounted to waving lightsabers around in circles. Fell a bit flat.

I don't think Ahsoka was too bad in of itself, the bigger problem is the style of writing where it's a constant tease of what's coming next. All SW shows need to look at Andor's three episode payoff structure and learn from that.
If you took the whole of this series and edited into a tight three 1 hr episode arc it would be a lot better.

Haven't been following it at all, just saw a clip on Twitter of a lightsaber fight that was promoted as one of the best ever and its just the most obvious choreographed fight. Lots of twirling, no danger to either person, static camera. I'd just wanna see what a lightsaber fight looks like with those behind Andor.

It suffers from the traditional(?) jumps, "now they're doing this, now to the baddies, now back to the goodies", and rather than being tight or narritively useful, it's usually for two obvious exposition sentences rather than anything meaningful. Watched too many other shows (mostly anime lol) where transistions are an art form compared to the clumsiness here.
Ep6 was it ? That was the only one that felt like it flowed properly.
And I remembered my thought on "The Witch, The Jedi and the Warlord" title. You know someone was so proud of that play, probably the first thing on the board.

Filoni was probably even happier when he changed the order to properly reference CS Lewis, "The Jedi, The Witch and the Warlord."
Not sure Thrawn would like being compared to furniture, Lars is certainly not wooden.

Lars was great but I didn't expect Thrawn to have a bit of a belly going on. Star Destroyer galley obviously still stocked with lots of tinned goodies 10 years on.

To be clear, I don't want Jedi in Andor, it is its own thing and doesn't need it. But out of curiosity it would be cool to see how they would approach it. Make it less a choreographed dance and more like a desperate scrap maybe.
