I think being friends and filtering the boards in rivals is the only real way to do it at the moment.
I might be able to do some Sunday racing after all this week. Have a new TV coming which might interrupt it, but my partner is out for the day and I was planing on spending it gaming anyway.

You need to be friends, then it just appears on the track selection screen or the one after. You get messages too when your time gets beaten, so I definitely DIDN’T get one when Timo DIDN’T beat my time. No sireee

Tried a couple of different cars out last night on MP, in the GT and TC class - and as a result was right in the middle of the pack for the start of both races. Was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well mannered it all was. Hopefully a sign it’s settling down and most of the bell ends have moved on

The lobbies seem to be filled with less rammers. Saying that I had two races ruined this morning by getting penalties for things I couldn’t do anything about. The FRR still needs lots of work. |

I’ve found braking, or even coming off the accelerator, helps hugely with avoiding penalties. As if the game accepts you tried, even if there’s contact. But yeah, it’s a far from perfect system.
Over to you on the Mazda’s fyi. I found a tune that let me use softs, made all the difference. If you don’t have race tyres you can use it if you go to my time on the leaderboard and copy it over

Hopped back on this week.
Positive - there’s a new track (Hockenheim), new race series in single player and they’ve *fixed the frame rate in the standing starts!* That last bit was a massive bugbear for me.
Negatives - I have two new race series to complete but one is only available until I think the end of the day.
Just expand it and leave the extras in FFS! I don’t have enough time to put all my gaming time into it!

Stupidly decided to finish that timed season in the last day it was available to get the Lambo Sesto reward. Ended up with Xbox claw hand, red eyes, a telling off and a car that handles pretty horribly. Merry Xmas.

The main bug I want them to fix is the wheel spin animation during replays. The wheels simply stop turning during braking. It completely ruins the replays.
I've never seen anything like it in any racing game I've played in the last 3 decades. I wish they'd just let Playground Games handle the entire franchise at this point.

So let me get this straight, they've spent god knows how long on rebooting this franchise and it comes out like they've been forced to rush it? I understand that COVID affected many games in development but I think there's copious amounts of evidence that MS need to be a bit direct in their management of these studios if you're releasing supposedly flagship games in a shocking state.

Might not be a fair comparison, but fucking hell they still managed to get TWO Horizon games that were quite polished (in comparison) released in the gap between mainline Forza games.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Turn 10 become a Gears/Halo etc support studio.

Again I feel COVID may be a big factor here, but it's clear that something like Redfall wasn't an isolated incident when you look at Halo Infinite, Forza, the development hell of Perfect Dark. Something is clearly going wrong at MS upper management. |

Anyone still playing this?
I have to say that as much as it is a broken and empty game the multiplayer has been very enjoyable. I’ve played more of the multiplayer on this than probably any other simcade series, including old Forzas. I really enjoyed the Group C cars last week, even if they weren’t very well balanced.
If people were still playing I’d be up for suggesting some private multiplayer with those cars.

I’m still playing it, always mp. Got the rage the other night with a bellend and hunted him down, dropped my safety rating to a B…it’s been carnage getting it back to S. I’ve seen people moan that the safety ratings don’t mean anything, as far as I can see that’s bollocks…it’s much, much worse lower down

Also trying out manual gears, as it’s supposedly quicker. Struggling with the downshifts, especially when braking. My brain doesn’t seem to cope with the added dimension
