All done. The first 2/3 of the game is probably a 8. Final 1/3 maybe a 5/10.
A great science fiction game though and I enjoyed reading all the logs etc to discover what happened which usually annoys me. Combat was simple but fun. I didn't mind the save system but i was lucky and only died maybe 3 times and they weren't too far from my last save. The only time I nearly got rage was the last boss as I died when it was nearly dead then realised I had to do the travelling again and then both parts of the boss again when the first part was really easy but just took what felt like forever to kill.
Apparently my game was 15 hours and 74% but it felt like it was longer. The final couple of hours I just used a guide so I didn't bin it. I didn't use any guides etc until that last bit when I already had all the upgrades and could not be bothered to find all the artifacts.
Um I guess a 7 overall but I'm glad I played it. Now onto Zelda!!

I think I'd agree with that breakdown. It was cool getting the upgrades, but the payoff once you get all of them is flat.

It's more useful to get more missile capacity than it is to get most of the final few upgrades. Looking back, I'd have to say there's definitely a case of rose tinted specs for me. I loved the game on the Cube, but playing through it again has highlighted the limitations of the game design. Still pleased that I finally finished it though.

Kind of puts me off looking at other re-releases from the GC era, and perhaps I need to put a bit more effort into getting my GC connected so I can play the games I already own!

Picked the Remastered version up recently while it was on sale, not played this since the original was released back on the GameCube, in 2003. Memory very hazy on story, upgrades etc so nice to be exploring and working things out again. Did get very stuck after unlocking the Charge Beam what to do next and took me ages to find the Morph Ball Bomb upgrade location. Which is where I'm upto atm.
Loving it.
