I don’t get half of you lot. Some of you complain you want an episode of the week format. The rest want a subtle arc included. So far, this has delivered both. And the Mandalorians are shite in combat, Why do you think they are always training, and the Armourer said, ‘Fuck our rules, we need Bo to get some professionals on our team.’? It is clear as day, that there is something there, even if the execution of the story can be wanting.

I think 'they are supposed to be useless' is a very charitable reading of the story.
Although, to support your argument, we do get a lot of 'conservation of Ninjitsu' moments. One ninja is deadly, a crowd of ninjas will go down with one punch which is why they keep isolating the 'main' ones on their own.

They’re shit at fighting because you can’t see a fucking thing in those helmets.

I think one of the issues is that their combat is entirely 'Hans Chance Cubes' based. They have to use the jetpack at least once, they have to use the bola/lasso stupidly at least once, they have to use the wrist rocket at least once...

It does beg the question why Din is so intent on sticking to the creed when they are a bunch of utter incompetents. You could argue that it's maybe all he has left, this dogmatic creed that he blindly holds on to to give him purpose. You'd think anyone else would look at them all training on the beach like a bunch of morons with their plastic helmets, intermittently getting picked off by large apex predators and go "eh, actually guys, I think I'll take Carl's offer up and fuck off back to Nevarro. You guys eh, you guys carry on. No no, you're all great it's just... It's the climate here. It brings out my eczema. Well you'll just have to trust me, but it's all over my face. You can keep the puppet."

I just can't understand how people who can fly can get pinned down in an urban environment, back away, take off and flank. It's not rocketeer science.

Do you think they’ll reveal a bunch of these guys are basically cosplayers?
I’m sure the couple of times they brought the fight in an earlier season they actually kicked ass instead of being bumbling amateur stormtrooper types.

Aren't Stormtroopers all cloned from a Mandalorian?

The X-Wing pilot guy looks like he stuck a dead Porg on his chin for his lovely beard.
This is the way.

Only just got around to it, and I strangely enjoyed that, cheese and all. I think I'm getting used to the stupid. I suppose the big question for me was - why not just rapid airdrop onto the cruiser ? Free new ship ? If we're complaining about yet another "saving a village", mix it up with another "storming a ship", and some more Sackhoff/Pascal fun, instead of airsoft trainee Mandos... And a jumpack target is easier to hit than one in cover, especially if you're an unknown extra, they know basic redshirt theory guys. Fuck, have the Armourer do a "superhero landing", smash her way through the bridge window, smack the herb garden, for that Marvel touch. Liked the pacific airbase nod (I was praying for Y-wing action), the hyperspace/plan edit, and Tim Meadows. Laughed at the 3 folk (CGI ?) who mustered a slightly quicker pace during the bombardment. And I've just spoiled myself on another cast member who'll be popping up - can't wait.

It wasn’t a bad episode, although I was hoping they would just kerb stomp everyone rather than bumble around, get caught out in the open like an amateur paintball team and wait to fire their rockets until AFTER the guy with the big cannon got throw out of a window. And getting pinned down ... whilst wearing jetpacks.

The rest, I kind of agree with.

All I can see each episode is a live action Desinty show. Just need to add some cheeseing for the final nail in the coffin.

A rather different episode in setting this week if not in the RPG quest structure, stacked with notable guest stars.
Makes a change to see somewhere actually nice to live in the Star Wars universe.

I...I don't know what the hell this episode is for. 30mins of a fever dream of a Scooby Doo style mystery, cameo ahoy, and a very neat solution that felt too easy. Bah, expected more from Bryce, especially after the opening scene and initial arrival on the planet of the week. Now I spoiled myself on "...you pesky kids" Lloyd, somewhat disappointing role, but JB was a surprise. His introduction at a distance was perfect, recognised the voice/manner immediately and was all "is that.. ? Really ?" That was fun at least.

The scene where Christopher Lloyd is there as Lizzo talks, cuts to her she turns to Bo and it cuts back to show he's completely vanished is so amateurish, it was like watching SNL. The whole scene had this weird feeling that a joke was ready be said to studio applause at any min. I like Bryce Dallas Howard's episodes but this wasn't my favourite

The whole episode looked and felt intensely cheap, I found the cameos just distracting. Jack Black in his YouTube videos beard they just brushed fancy. Nice to see Christopher Lloyd though, 200 years old or not.

I enjoyed it. A nice, bright colour palette was a nice change. Didn't mind the cameos at all. Meh, I'm easily pleased.

My housemate and I have been enjoying constantly laughing at how dumb it is.
At the end “this Din guy is a zealot with crazy beliefs, and anyway, we’ll never follow you because you don’t have a magic sword won it ritual combat”
