Yeah was last year that was a bit of a backlash for it.

Yeah guess it’s old news. Totally passed me by.
It seems odd as I don’t remember anyone actually complaining about it. But I guess not everything can be as wholesome as Dambusters.

What a meh and often boring season of television, the acting and dialogue is so stilted, says something when Jack Black is acting circles around everyone else in a scene just cos of his usual scenery chewing.
Picked up towards the end, but nearly every storyline and scene feels like it could have been constructed better. The Dr. Persching episode felt like they were trying to do an Andor style episode without anything that makes Andor work.

Ok, I finally watched the last 3 episodes of Boba Fett because you guys said they were better, and they set up Mandalorian S3.
They were awful, and now I don't want to watch Mandalorian S3. Or Asokha.
+1 Point for Pedro Pascal's voice being oddly entertaining even when he's doing shit that's just as dumb as Fett, whose voice sends me to sleep. -1 Point for whatever the fuck those interminable awkward pointless scenes with Luke talking like a moron and Grogu were all about.

I think most people said that the Mandalorian stand-alone episode was worth watching. The rest, ranging from tedious to fucking dog shite. Not that they are right, BoBF was better than it was credited for.

I mean, 20 minutes of the mandalorian building a space ship with some comedy robots and a comedy sidekick was the best part of the entire series, but as that indicates it was hardly a high bar.

I think the big problem BOBF had was that we’d already been given the Boba Fett show we’d been waiting for since we were kids and that was season 1 of The Mandalorian. Just a cool looking faceless space cowboy having adventures and being part of dramatic shootouts.
Instead we get all the mystique stripped from him and a show that didn’t even have a full compliment of its own episodes before ending like a cartoon.
Having seen that they can do more grown up stories with Andor I wonder if the better direction would’ve been to keep him an outlaw and have it be more of a space mafia show. Maybe make it so he isn’t running all his own errands like an rpg protagonist too.

Yeah, I think I remember saying back when they first announced the Boba Fett show that it was a weird choice to make after The Mandalorian as they were basically the same.
They could have made it different and good though, but instead they made it different* and awful.
*though not that different as they're essentially the same character, except one is older and fatter and more boring
I'm getting confused with all the threads, but that Honest Trailers one that (*checks*) you(!!) posted basically sums it up pretty well.
I dunno why I'm linking to your own post...

As someone who's a lot warmer on the Boba Fett show (but even then, it wasn't amazing) I think both it and Mando s3 could probably have been improved by having their storylines woven into one series. As in, if the events of Boba Fett - including the Mando-centric ep - had been part of Mando 3, I think it could have been a bit better. And maybe Boba could have been part of the big finale on Mandalore at the end.
As it was, I thought Mando 3 was a step down after the masterpiece of Mando 2, but still very good. Apart from the dreadful Coruscant episode, its main problem was a lot of back-and-forth between the Mando tribes. It lacked the slow-burn forward momentum of season 1 and the excellent guest-star-of-the-week, one-off-eps-building-to-an-arc structure of season 2.
Anyway. I prefer Jedi to anything else in Star Wars so I'm really looking forward to next years shows a lot more.

I dunno if she or deepLuke showed up in Mando S3, but given how awful the bit in Boba Fett with luke trying to set up his new school was, I'm not sure I have any faith that the Ahsoka show will be any good. Good trailer, but Star Wars has always done a good trailer.

Ahsoka will be out this August! Oh really? Awesome. I do kinda wish I'd seen all the animated series mind.

Yeah, I have seen about 7 episodes of the Clone Wars and none of Rebels so there's just too much to catch up with before then. Even if it was next year, it's a hell of a lot of telly to get through

I keep thinking I’ll do it one day but then I look at how much there is and abandon the idea before starting

BOBF was rough, it had Jennifer Beals though.

One of the Mods is in Prospect with Pedro Pascal which is a great little sci-fi film from a few years ago that seems like no one saw. I think its still on Prime. Good if you like slow serious westerns (but in space) as a genre. I’d recommend it.

Prospect is fantastic. The kind of movie you’ve wanted to watch for ages but keep putting off because it looks a bit earnest and not really what your in the mood for right now.
Then after three minutes you’re completely sucked in going ‘this is fucking magic’

Good if you like slow serious westerns (but in space) as a genre. I’d recommend it. I remember people saying she was good in other stuff, but she was absolutely dire in this. I assume it wasn't her fault what with the writing and the dumb character.

I keep thinking I’ll do it one day but then I look at how much there is and abandon the idea before starting Yeah, this is my problem. I'm a big fan of animation and there are a few "properties" I love that have had really well-received animated series over the last few years (Transformers, Turtles, etc), but I'm kind of intimidated by how much content that would be to try to watch. Which is maybe a bit silly, maybe I should just watch what I want when I want, y'know? It's like for years, not having Sky, I wanted to watch new Simpsons somehow. I've had Disney+ for three years and have watched about one episode...

I still say they fucked up Boba Fett’s return. It’s something that fans have been calling out for ever since he Wile E. coyote’s into the Sarlaac, then he just basically shows up without ceremony or reason in a random episode, without the iconic armour and wearing a skirt.

Yeah, they should have kept him as a mysterious bounty hunter of few words who almost never removes his helmet.
