Mandalorian - The Flash Gordon episode.
I liked it; I just ignore the daft stuff and pew pew yay.

That was a phenomenal videogame cutscene.
Might give S4 a miss unless I hear there's a substantial improvement.

I'm hoping next season is a bit more of the bounty hunter stuff and less of the Jack Black nonsense. Get back to what it should be IMO.
Whilst I liked season 3, I didn't love it, and perhaps finishing off the current storylines and having a reset is what it needs and, hopefully, where it's going.

I feel like the show works best as more episodic, adventure of the week type stuff. When it tries doing an overarching narrative (what the fuck was the point of that Dr Pershing episode?) it usually falls flat on it's face. The way this episode ended does seem to hint at a return to that approach, so I guess there's some reason to be hopeful.

Yeah it did seem like a “We listened” ending, though I’d have liked to see a little more from Gus Fring’s army of clones. Mando just switching the fridges off was an anticlimax to that. I otherwise was fine with the episode. Thought there’d be a post-credits scene though.

Well, had to put up with listening to adult colleagues bitching like teenage schoogirls all morning, so I'm undecided on whether this'll be a better or worse experience. Those early remarks are not promising. Here we go. Edit: aaaaand done. When the droids steal the episode, y'know someone's fucked up somewhere. All our wonderful theories and speculation having more depth and nuance than 30mins of Marvelesque fanpleasing CGI to whoop at, and Pascal CoD leet shooting everyone in the toes. I counted four, dirty bastard. But yeah, R5 escapade and IG11 as the new marshall were the highlights for me. Moreso than the 3 Palantine(?) guard chasing Grogu like he's Buster Keaton.

This was such an odd series to me. The whole thing felt like a live action Saturday morning cartoon; some big action but zero emotional stakes.
You’d think what was achieved in the final episode would mean something but it just felt like it had no weight to me.
But! I did like the humour that ran through the series and there has been some fun action.

I think the problem is, basically, Pedro Pascal is so hot right now. His involvement this series was massively scaled down and probably will be going forward and they really struggled to transition it to more of an ensemble cast.

What happened to R5? Thought he might be chilling out at the end there. He went back to the boulder he’d been squatting behind since the last time the plot didn’t care where he was.

Just watched the silly droids one. Think we've got two left to watch. I fell asleep during most of that one though so hopefully haven't missed anything too important.
The boy was laughing his head off at the pre-credits bit with the fishy lovers, and not in a good way. He actually went "wow, that was probably the least cool way to start the show yet". I had to agree. Then fell asleep.

The kids (12 and 9) loved it, which meant I got more enjoyment out of it than I probably would have otherwise. Definitely not as good as the first series, but weird Doctor Boring episode aside, the family thought it was good romping.

Overall not as good as seasons 1 & 2, but I enjoyed it (and it was better than BOBF, though that's not exactly high praise).
It looks and sounds like Star Wars, the action is decent, and whilst the pacing may have been a bit all over the shop, the overarching story was decent enough.

I thought it is still very entertaining. They seem to be sowing the seeds that the Empire isn’t as beaten as originally suggested. I hope this will be a plot line for the various shows and not laying the groundwork after the event for Palpatine’s return. The cloning, figuring out the force could be a great thing to build up to. Don’t make it just about Sheev.

This season was obviously co-opted as a vehicle to provide the background for the overarching and intersecting storylines that are going to okay out in Ashoka, Skeleton Crew and other product, leading up to Filoni’s movie.
The last couple episodes were great, in my opinion. Ok, yeah, lots of plot armor and daft bits, which expose the leads having their attentions spread wide across developing all these other shows.
Seems evident that The Mandalorian is going on hiatus for a while, with so much being nearly wrapped up. The door left open to come back to The Mandalorians, a revamped show with the two Dins off on weekly adventures and capers.
I’m cool with all of this.

I don’t want them to revisit the same things again but I really do want them to bring Darth Maul back. I know he was in loads of the animated series but I never watched that. The tease in Solo was one of the most interesting things about that film.

Oh, and I really don’t care in the slightest about any of this Mandalorian clan shite. It’s not at all interesting and seems to have just hamstrung the character.

The tease in Solo was one of the most interesting things about that film. Solo flopped so that strand of his life outside Clone Wars and Rebels will probably never be resurrected and nor will he.
Maul is also very, very dead before Yavin.

Co-opting shows to promote other shows has become really annoying with the Disney+ way of over-doing it.

Tough crowd, I thought it was a really enjoyable season. Sure the finale was pew pew. But it was good pew pew!
Agree the Dr. Pershing episode felt like a plot line that was forgotten about. It's interesting to venture into the politics of the New Republic but that's not something you can cover in a single episode or 30 - 40 minutes and it's being done far better via Andor.
Overall good Star Wars.

It wasn’t forgotten about as such. He was the one that had been doing the cloning of Fring, that other one that sorted him out was getting rid of himself to keep their secret which will ultimately lead to the clone Emperor (I assume).
That episode did spend a long time on him for a small payoff though.

I’m to understand it was a ludicrously elaborate plot to wipe Pershing’s brain so no one else could benefit from his research, while Gideon bred an army of force sensitive clones of himself.
Were it me? I’d have one clone Gideon survive, be a major threat, but also struggling with his massive ego knowing he’s a clone, and also having difficulty learning the force and health problems associated with cloning, eg discovering Real Gideon had a fail safe built into his powerful clones to prevent them simply killing him off immediately.

Interesting observation I hadn’t noticed until now - was perusing the Star Wars lego sets in the local Tesco and found what I had always known as Slave-1. Cool set.
But I noticed the box called it “Boba Fett’s Starship”. Pretty unusual as everything in the series has a name and is usually branded as such. But checked other sets with the ship and in every case it was referred to as “Boba Fett’s Starship.”
So I guess we can’t refer to it as Slave-1 any more.
