I've just discovered I was born in the same year that the song Shaddup You Face AND the Birdie Song came out. What a great year. Ah, a youngster eh? 😢 😭

Jealous Guy by Roxy Music was no.1 when I was born. Never heard of it. A good year for songs though by the looks of it.

You know those utterly meaningless clothes they sell in Primark etc, with the name of some place exotic sounding followed by a year long long ago?
"Miami 1964" or some shit like that.
I saw one today with 1982 as the year... Bastards!

To continue the Beatles link, Wings - Mull of Kintyre was the best selling single in 77. Would've thought 77 would have more bangers but it's a pretty shite top 10. Even the albums are poor.

Mine is "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Ole Oak Tree". Birthday No1 is Day Dreamer, David Cassidy. Hmm.

She Loves You - Beatles (obviously). I'm old.
And btw, when you reach 60 your eyebrows start to go all Denis Healey. Kids, Google. ✌️

Just found out I'm going to actually be a grandpa in about 9 months. Was wondering if/when one of my kids was ever going to get around to making me one. Have the biggest smile on my face right now.

Not sure if it is old age, or recent ill health, but I was offered a ticket to see Green Day, with two nights hotel. And I turned it down as I have a ticket for the midnight screening of Doctor Who.

Duct tape is a bit OTT. Sellotape or even just a folded bit of card is all you needed. Always have a pencil or bic biro handy for reeling the tape back in too for when it inevitably unreels.
God it was such a shit format, but so good at the same time.

Well tbh I couldn't find a pic with sellotape, tissue was also used I recall. Gotta press record and stop just at the right time on those Sunday nights!

I found a sealed TDK C90 the other day thinking it was gold dust.
They sell for a £1 on ebay.
Gah.

Loved a C90 for playlists. C60s were good for albums though.

I bought an Aiwa Walkman with my first pay packet back in 1990. Lasted for years that did. Things did back then though. Except pay packets. £35 a week on the yts
