Been reading stories about people getting mugged at knifepoint and forced to transfer money via the banking apps on their phone. Now I’m thinking it’s better to just do banking the old fashioned way. Or just keep all my money safely ensconced on top of the bathroom cabinet. To be fair, if you're cornered by some criminal scum they may well not believe you're some muppet who doesn't believe in online banking and will stab you up in anycase. |

My banking app helpfully reminded me that there are only 290 pay days before I turn 65. Not sure I needed that reminder, thanks. Oooh that makes me feel a bit better. I'd have guessed 40 years old  . The mugging at knife point and forcing authorised push payment thing is real. And it's not as straightforward as just seeing what bank they've sent it to as the crims either have multiple fake accounts to launder money through until it can be withdrawn or moved to crypto where nothing is regulated, or they basically force/pay young naive kids to allow them to use their accounts to send the money to.
