I had some ongoing concerns for about a year and buried it, as some of us do.
Eventually got the courage to get it all checked (46 now), prostate, poo, blood and the relief of getting the all-clear last week was amazing. Didn't realise how much it was affecting my mental state, but the weight that was lifted from my shoulders was huge.
I 'experienced' the finger, but my mate also told me they don't do this anymore - who knows - postcode lottery!

Read dfunked's post as he'd had the digital exam the other day and just found out they don't need to do it anymore. Just dropped his trousers presenting and the doctor felt obligated

You still owe me an amiga, you can't talk I know; it drowned in the flooded garage at the old house

I'm definitely starting to get old and boring. It is everything that I've dreamed of and more.

Great to hear they've finally developed a finger-less prostate exam. I'm still annoyed about having one of the last slice-your-ball-sack-open-with-a-knife vasectomies before they invented a way to do it with lasers or ultrasound or some shit.

Lost my Dad earlier this year at 82. Was just talking with my eldest last night and I actually saw his double-take whilst he was looking at me.
He said I looked just like Grandad. Guess it was looks and no doubt mannerisms which seem to becoming more like the old guy.
But he had 30 years on me so I must be knackered.

I look uncannily like my father when he was younger, I guess I know what I'll look like in the future, aside from that it's happened three times, twice with my mum and once with my dad (both passed) when I've had to do a double take to check if I was seeing things. Its really quite unnerving yet slightly comforting in a weird way.

My banking app helpfully reminded me that there are only 290 pay days before I turn 65.
Not sure I needed that reminder, thanks.

Been reading stories about people getting mugged at knifepoint and forced to transfer money via the banking apps on their phone.
Now I’m thinking it’s better to just do banking the old fashioned way. Or just keep all my money safely ensconced on top of the bathroom cabinet.

Been reading stories about people getting mugged at knifepoint and forced to transfer money via the banking apps on their phone. Whilst not wanting to sound like a chump or obvious, assuming you have your wits about you, the thing to do is literally to run as fast as possible, this is without doubt the best form of defence.

Or just keep all my money safely ensconced on top of the bathroom cabinet. The thing to do there would be to very quickly chew your fingertips off. No fingertips, no biometrics, no banking login. Just say you don't know your password, through a bloody mouth of your own finger ends of course. If your face unlocks your phone then I'm sorry in advance. Just find a roughcast wall and make it quick.
