I watched my wife get destroyed, whilst I made them cup of tea. Here's what it taught me about B2B sales.

Thanks all. It could be good, it could forestall the restructure and save my job, at least in the short term. Or maybe not. Everything is up in the air. If they disestablish the agency they save money at upper management level, or at least should. The restructure to this point has been a shitshow. It would take an essay to detail everything, but the process was borderline cruel, and the end proposal akin to a North Korean diktat. It started late March and was delayed multiple times for unknown reasons. The document disestablishing roles was error-strewn and hadn't even been spell checked. So, fuck know what happens now. Proposal goes to Cabinet on Monday and then... There is a law that theoretically necessitates my job, or at least the work I do, so I'm clinging to that. Everything a bit Kafka-esque ATM though. Hahaha. So, they've not disestablished us, just hiving off the parts of the organisation that were created when we became a separate agency. This is deeply disappointing. Iif they had disestablished us it would have meant a cull of most if not all senior management, which would save a lot of money and remove the most useless people. They're a bunch of useless., lying, selfish cunts. CE definitely pulled some shenanigans there. The restructure is halted, but it will restart next year after they've carved us up. By that point I will have been under the axe for over a year. FFS.

This almost sounds like a way of getting you to resign voluntarily.

This almost sounds like a way of getting you to resign voluntarily. You'd think so, but I know they're not that smart. Imagine a room full of narcissistic Frank Spencers and that's our upper management.

This almost sounds like a way of getting you to resign voluntarily. It’s interesting you say that because before I was actually made redundant I was subjected to spells of consistent harassment and bullying by members of the senior leadership team I didn’t realise what was going on at the time. However I spoke to some of my old colleagues including my old manager and she told me she quit due to how she was treated. At least I hung on to get my redundancy, she got nothing unfortunately It was a very dark time and a clear attempt to force people to leave in order to limit redundancy payments

Either way I'm going to try and hang on to the end, if my body can handle it. Been there six years so payout will be decent.

Just handed in my notice.
Doesn't feel great :/
Leaving out of necessity is a sad feeling when the place you work is wonderful in principle, but completely dysfunctional.

Look at at this way, you are now essentially off until December. Sure you have to physically turn up but that's about as far as it goes. Any stress becomes someone else's problem essentially and all the shit you get dragged into you can shrug off.
It will feel like you have had the world's best poo soon.

Just finished week 2 of nhs and they're bringing in more shifts. So there is more shift issues again. Sometimes 2pm-10pm in the week, and weekends too - doing either 7-3 or 2-10. Sigh. Not sure how often it's going to be though so will have to see. It's because of weekend working that I left my last job.
But, on the flip side, it's a good place to work, the work is good, the opportunities are good (so could potentially out of shifts after a while and move sideways etc), and the people are good.
And just to chuck in another curveball, I've been shortlisted for 2 interviews for another two IT jobs. One is fairly far away, mon-fri and not that much cash, and one is quite close, only mon-fri and more cash.
Shall I just roll a bloody dice or something?

I'm confused was this shift business not explained when you were interviewing/checking out contract etc? What they tend to do, from experience in the last 2 jobs that have it, is either a) play it down and say it's hardly ever and then slowly introduce it until you go mad, or b) tell you that it's coming up soon but no worries, as you'll hardly ever do it, and then it comes into force and they change things at the 11th hour, saying, "oh by the way, we've had a last minute change and it's only going to be X type of staff that have to do it now, and not the full roster", and then you go mad again. However, in October, it's going to change again where *everyone* has a say on tbe shifts and potentially , if there's enough interest, you might not do any shifts at all. The difficulty is predicting what's coming next. But that's part of the package, so who do you phone?

Shifts for project manager work sounds odd though. I'm not doing project management - I'm now on a service desk as I wanted something a bit more low key
