Staff canteen at Asda was amazing. Cheese on toast with a hidden ham layer, beans, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, toast and a brew only a couple of quid. This was the 90s. Set you up good style for another 30 min break on the toilet. I was the king of the shirkers.

The M&S staff canteen was great. The fry up on a Sunday shift was great as a hungover 19yr old.

Never had a workplace with a canteen. They're actually almost mythical in my mind.

I remember the Somerfield 'canteen' area. It was a tiny room, and you had to buy your own food from the supermarket. Not served food at all

I'm gone on hols for two weeks and the canteen has had a makeover and new menu. Bit worried - most of the changes of this kind have been for the worse over the years...
In other news though, they've launched a new rewards portal, and among other things, I get 6% off xbox.com purchases. Sweet!

Just reminded me of a funny story.. when our supervisor was caught on camera pissing by the loading bay food cages. I haven't thought about Somerfield in ages.

Oh god, I worked for Somerfield as a weekend job while at school, what a shithole. I blame it for my life-long aversion to work.

First day done. Went well. Good sized team, friendly managers, pissed all the technical side of it straight off and the boss is a bass player. Hah, bonus.
Big place too. Meet lots of people. And choose your own shifts too.
Let's hope it stays good!
Edit, it's also permanently dress down. Business casual, but everyone is just chilled out and it's everything but trainers

Fingers crossed mate. I'm still looking at the mo. Cheers How's things your end? Despite applying for jobs in this dear country, absolutely none have actually replied or got back to me, whereas recruiters abroad have got back to me insanely quickly, example I applied for a job last night and got a response this afternoon. Already had an interview for Japan (wasn't keen on the boss), UAE (we'll see), Bali (this Thursday) and Saudi (I think it'll be this week). I guess this is how things are in the UK.

Though you seem to have a fair few lined up to say the least. Pity you can't get anything in the UK, unless you're not bothered about that?

I would like to make it work in the UK as it is quite tiring moving to a different country and starting all over again but I don't really know what else I can do.

Are we not supposed to be literally crying out for teachers in the UK at the moment?

Jambo doesn't teach children, he teaches housewives things their husbands don't.
Been in more housewives hands than a bottle of cillit bang.

Has anyone done a Kanban training course via 3rd party provider? (that was good)
I already use Trello and from my research I work in Kanban way

There isn't really much to it than that, I'd be very wary on any paid courses on the subject
