That Set for Life game is what I want to win. You don’t get enough money so that leeches can expect to buy you a house or something. But you get 10 grand a month for something like thirty years. Perfect. I read an AMA from someone who won that game and my god everyone on there mainly Americans going on like 10k a month isn't a life changing amount and you can't quit work. You can. Easily. Invest every month of course but fuck me I'd be quitting work in a heart beat. Especially at our age. 10k a month is only a tad under 5 times what I currently make per month. That's definitely quitting money for me. I could invest half and still be earnining over double what I currently earn.

Is it taxed as that would bring it down to under 6k take home. I could still retire on that, would just have to keep the Mrs working 😂

I was under the impression that lottery money was tax exempt.

10k a month? No worries. My bills are 700 a month. I'll take a grand on top for beer and drugs to fuck my mind, the rest can go in a building society.

If I had that sort of money I probably wouldn't make pension age so that advice doesn't work for everyone 😂

In fairness an equivalent lotto jackpot of 3.6 million would probably be laughable to most Americans too compared to their totally daft prize amounts. It absolutely is a life changing amount, though. It's the equivalent of the take home pay of a £200,000 income FFS!

I'm a basic bitch. The idea of a yacht fills me with dread. Fuel, mooring fees, repairs. Ugh. Same goes for super cars.
I couldn't tell you the difference between a £30 and a £3000 bottle of red and I'd rather have a great cheeseburger than lobster stuffed with caviar.
So yes 10k a week world keep me well stocked in trainers, cocaine and waitrose deliveries.

We only put the lotto on occasionally when its a "it must be won" game. Anyway, email came in and we won!
Its not life a life changing amount of money but that £5 and a free lucky dip is better than nothing I guess. I win something nearly every other month on premium bonds but it goes back into it. Hopefully I'll max that out or pay the house of with it whichever comes first.
My wife says she would reduce her hours at work just for social interaction but me on the other hand.. nope I'd be rage quitting this daily grind of 4 on 4 off 9-5. Lockdown was bliss for me and being able to do and go anywhere would be even better.

I hate that the lottery app doesn’t tell you you’ve lost until the day after so no idea if I won.
Just to confirm yes lottery is all tax free.
One thing I’ve wondered with this particular one is how you’d be set for a mortgage. We currently have basically fuck all put away for a deposit (obviously a couple of months of this would sort it) but I do wonder if you could just basically argue that you have guaranteed massive income and walk straight into a mortgage with little or no deposit. A half decent house round here is minimum 300K and I’d want better than that.
If I could have a nice house with a couple of rooms for hobbies, bank some for the kid and some for retirement I’d be happy. I’d hope with ten grand a month that we’d be able to do that *and* pay ourselves a monthly salary maybe a grand each more than we get now. That would be a fantastic life and I would fill it with awesomeness.

Sorry for the double post. If I won a big lottery amount, like the Euros or the Lotto, there’s zero chance work are getting any notice. My partner works there and they’ve fucked her and many others up over no pay increase this year in a completely unfair way, after basically promising her a pay increase for 18 months, then kicking the can down the road because of a mass grading exercise, only to say no at the end of the that. They could shove it up their arses.
What are they going to do, sue you? If they did have a leg to stand on I’d offer them a 50% settlement pre-court and chance my luck, but it seems incredibly unlikely.
I saw a Reddit thread earlier about the best way people had left work and one that stood out was somebody who had to arrange for a courier to collect their remote working laptop and stuff. They insisted that they would only do this before their final day as they were counting it as a work task and wanted to be salaried during.
Apparently the only slot was a couple of weeks before the end so they effectively were paid to do literally nothing for the last couple of weeks.

The mortgage question is tricky. Guess it depends on the lender, but you'd probably still want 5% minimum, which in fairness you'd get together pretty quickly.
It's not a very efficient use of the money, but I'd take my sweet time with moving. Buy another place and not even bother listing our current house until we've moved and cleared out this one. Getting it all done in a day and hoping chains don't collapse is ridiculously stressful. It'd be so nice to just buy a house with no pressure at all. Then overpay the mortgage like crazy and watch it disappear in a few years. Rock and roll!
RE notice, chances are they'd rather just get rid of a disgruntled employee straight away than have to pay garden leave, so can't see most companies fighting that too hard. Straight up breaching contract could be a tricky one, but they also probably don't want the optics of fighting it to come out.

Big Lottery win time.
- Be in work, just to keep up appearances, and then do something like a table flip and walk out. Won't tell anyone about winning big money, fuck them all. - Pay off people's mortgages behind their backs so they are liberated. - Spruce up the house and then keep it for the kids to inherit/live in. - Have the ability to do whatever you want, in your own time.

You have no matches dfunkedNo chain here. Renting in an area I really don’t like being in. However maybe the sensible thing would be to spend six months getting a wedge of deposit and paying off debts. I guess I’ll stay in work for that long too to maximise the cash but just completely take the piss in the knowledge that if I get caught, fuck it. However You have no matches. Urrrghhhh
