Sorry to hear that Quaddy. Got another rejection myself today so I am currently waiting to hear back on nothing. Also in a foul mood and have had all of my motivation crushed. Also sorry to hear about the shit news Frog. We can't all have fuck all motivation as a group we need some as a group to keep going.

Didn't get that job I went for either. Got pipped at the post by someone who had slightly more electronics experience than me. Weird, but that's that. Massive pisser as it was a brilliant fit and location for me. They said I interviewed brilliantly and everything fit etc etc. And now, after next week, I'm back on evenings and weekend work with the nhs. To say I'm extremely gutted is an understatement Fucking pissflaps man. You know where they are. Just go and leave a jobby on their doorstep. That sucks though man I hope something else appears for you before long.

My boss said today he's taking a step back in the near future, doing less hours and I'll be on as joint director with his daughter. He's been talking about it for a couple of years but looks like it may actually begin happening soon. Considering I've been here 18 years and constantly questioning my life of late, it seems like it's the thing I mentally needed to hear right now.

And that looks like I’m totally swooping in with my good news as you guys are having a shit time of it. Sorry. My timing sucks.
In all fairness though I stay out of this thread normally because if I started ranting about my work over the last few years I’d never stop.

For reference I have lived and worked in Asia before. If I was doing a pros and cons it would be: +: Esteemed organisation. Possible development. It's a job. New country to live in. -: Mental and physical energy of moving again. Could only visit friends and family once a year. Only 18hr contract for thr 1st year. Predominantly younger learners 8yrs old. My brother lives and works in Taiwan and loves it there. I’ve only visited but if my work and personal circumstances allowed it then I’d love to do the same. Maybe 8 year old Taiwanese kids aren’t little shits?

I thought so. Fwiw, I would personally be loathe to travel again, so I can totally understand why someone else who's done a lot of it wouldn't want to do more. That said, I'm old and tired and my life is ridiculously complicated. If I was 20 years younger and single I imagine things would be less difficult. And I'm still talking about me. It does kinda sound like you are seeing if you can talk yourself into it, but if you can look inside yourself and it really isn't what you want to do, you'll know.

Thanks man, and thanks everyone for their opinions. I've got until Monday to give them a response so I'm going to think over it a good amount, not let THE FEAR dictate to me and then I guess we'll see what happens from there. God, I hate being an adult.

Also, Jambowayoh, don't let them pressure you into making a massive decision too quickly. Ask them for a bit more time if you want it. And nothing is set in stone until both parties have signed contracts, either.

Cheers, and sorry to hear that too. I've just applied for some more but like you, I just feel like telling everyone to go fuck themselves at the minute.

Saying that, my mate has come in and he has 2 chocolate labs that are amazingly gorgeous and I get on brilliantly with them. I've just said hello and given them a massive fuss.
World is a bit better now.
Fucking humans!!!!!!!

At least you are getting practise, noone will even see me which is a fucker because I have got every job I have ever interviewed for. Not sure it's a record I can keep up but at this rate I will because I won't have another!

I sent my idea on how to move up in the company and chatted to my manager in the catch up and how it will benefit the company. My manager likes it but he has a manager that has to approve it and then manager's manager at the top has to improve it. They want me to take on more work and the company beats you over the head with your job description to say your level fits your salary. Will see what happens

Not sure it's a record I can keep up but at this rate I will because I won't have another! I think it's more luck than judgement tbh. All I'm doing is going to indeed, putting my postcode in and looking in a radius and going for ones I can hopefully do. The one thing that it does help with though is practice like you say. I'm pretty much fully relaxed in interviews now. Not that it's fucking helping.

Thought about it long and hard but emailed the Taiwan job to say I wouldn't be taking it. The more I thought about it the more I kept thinking it's just one year but I don't want to spend 1 or 2 years doing something I'm not enjoying for the possibility that it may lead to something or nothing. I did it in my last year in Andorra and I felt like there I wasted a year of my life where I was burnt out, not happy with what I was doing and experienced some traumatic events in my personal life which I really haven't processed properly.
Guess we'll see what the next bag of shit life throws my way is.

Totally agree with Dougs.
If there is any hesitation, then something isn't right.
I think you've made the right decision mate

Well, my day has been pretty topsy turvy.
I was sat outside this place this morning at 10:40 waiting for the interview for this 6 month fixed position job, which wouldn't be ideal as I need something long term, but went to attend anyway.
My phone rings. It's the agency that set me up for the job I got pipped at the post for. Someone internally has decided to hand their notice in, and the company immediately rang the agent to see if i was still available, so I've taken it there and then. I start in 2 weeks.
That is unbelievable luck and I still can't quite believe it.

Well done quad! Take the hands that life deals you, especially when they are pocket rockets (Maybe a bit of exaggeration in this case... Not quite a lottery win, but you get the gist)
