If the original actors for Rhaenyra and Alicent were kept then you would have to further suspend disbelief that they're meant to be the mother of multiple sons who look the same age as they do. The best thing to say is that for a series full of roles for child actors, they've all been great, it could be much worse.

All I want is for Graham McTavish to have his own series. He was the best thing about it.
Sing me to sleep, oh Graham McTavish. Thine hands have the grace of a swan's neck.

He played Dracula in Netflix's Castlevania anime, and I'd love to see him play the role in an actual Dracula film some day.

Have you spoilered that because it's going to be relevant in future?

Have you spoilered that because it's going to be relevant in future? No just in case anyone's waited till the season finished to start watching. In other news, Martin has confirmed Winds of Winter is 75% complete... so only another 8 or 10 years to wait.

Mr. Ackerman should have had a spin off show.

I'd watch that. Anything with our Graham. Or as he likes to be called, The 'Vish

Took me far too long to realise he was the face and voice of Charlie Cutter in Uncharted 3.

Fundamentally she should have burnt everyone to the ground when she had the chance everything after that is stupid.

Fundamentally she should have burnt everyone to the ground when she had the chance everything after that is stupid. You mean Rhaenys? Torching everyone on Team Green at the coronation ceremony would have been cathartic but would create all new issues. You still have a good number of people in high positions that feel Aegon should be king, including your KL population who are none the wiser and think it is legitimate. Rhaenyra would have arrived knowing one of her allies torched her own family and the king, she would be labelled a tyrant and Rhaenys labelled a kinslayer, one of the worst crimes in Westeroes. And as Rhaenys said, it wasn't her call to make

Rhaenys wasn't even really sure whose side she wanted to be on at that point anyway. She still thinks that Team Black could of had a hand in what she thinks was the death of her son, and waited until the sea snake chose which side they would go with.

Too many Rhae people. Pick a different name George, y'know like Susan or Mavis.

Just caught up. Enjoyed that but it irked me that they got the translations wrong in the final dragon battle scene.

Eh it's more that GoT seems to always be parading itself as full of people who get their hands dirty but nobody actually ever does, so they're all just pointless threats.

Speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers decided that they only needed 3 seasons, but HBO have pushed them into doing 4. The compromise has been to shrink the seasons down a bit. I believe the first season was a big success (at least, the opener was, not sure about the rest of the season), so imagine HBO want this to run for as long as possible.

I think its dropped two episodes because the main characters are now too old for graphic birth scenes, so thats two hours of screen time they dont need to fill anymore.

Very excited for this. Watching the 1st season in preparation and I really had forgotten a lot - and it’s so much better than I remember too. Apart from odd turns in Game of Thrones (like pretty much all the main Lannisters) I think this has such better acting.

Across the board, I'm inclined to agree. Even the younger versions of Rhaenyra and Alicent were great. Paddy Considine should have won an award.

Well it's definitely back. Blood and Cheese lacked the impact by them cutting out the 3rd child. Scene felt a bit rushed. Still good just could have been better.
Not sure why they felt the need to add the new relationship other than HBO wanting some sex scenes.

Despite the last 10 mins being full of dread and sickening brutality, I do agree it's missed out on core impact that scene in the books had. Reading back over it there to remind myself, it was pretty vile what occurred. Guess some things even HBO wouldnt touch. Still, the sounds of the blade absolutely got the intent across.
Its funny seeing some of the reaction from non book readers of that scene being "Those two fucked up Daemon's plan, he wanted Aemond" even though he smiles when asked "What if they're not found" before cutting away and he says "A son for a son" earler in the episode

Not watched all of it yet. Had to watch a recap as had no idea in the first 10 mins what on earth was going on or who was who!
