So a very old man makes a very big scene of embarrassing every one who thought the succession wasn't settled, including a death. And mere hours later it's all torn up with only one witness, and everyone thinks that's ok? Burn them all. That was in regards to her son being Lord of the Driftmark after Corey's which he's brother contested and died over. The ones willing to belive he changed who should take the crown after him had secretly been planning a coup for a while. Everyone who didn't go along with it is now dead.

And from S2.. We should start getting more of the other families like the Starks as well as returning to places like Winterfell Honestly I would actually be happy if they just said fuck it. Did this for 4 seasons like Martin has suggested. Then did the Dunk & Egg Tales for 3-4 seasons. Then either Roberts Rebellion before a more book faithfull GOT... all while George still updates us on Winds of Winter.

Just caught up, I thought foot guy was a shoe in for a toe suck, or worse. I guess he's got the "worse" in his back pocket for later. I bet handsome knight bloke is good at Fruit Ninja.
I pay attention, can you tell?

Rhaenyra must be damn good in bed for him to hold a 20 year grudge like this.

Yeah I'm avoiding YouTube as clips have started appearing in my recommended.
Even as a book wanker I don't want to see it. The shows made some changes anyways so no one fully knows what's happening.

I enjoyed the whole series; which I’m surprised at as I thought it would be bobbins. Shame he have to wait a bit and all that.

Watched the last episode as it's just aired in the states.
The one big action scene looked like a video game.
Honestly, the previous episode felt more like a season finale than this one.
Oh well, guess I have to wait a year now.

Two, it’s not back until 2024
I was hoping for it to end with a bigger bang and the proper dance of dragons, but I get why they didn’t.

Really enjoyed that last episode. As with GoT, the penultimate episode did feel more like a finale, with the last episode focusing more on fallout and setting up the next season. Still thought it had plenty of stuff going on though.
I get the complaint that the final moments looked quite video gamey. Seems to have been a problem with both this and GoT that they just can't do people riding dragons. It always looks a bit shit. If you get past that though, the sequence itself was pretty good, albeit with an inevitable conclusion.

Excellent episode. I don't think that the previous episode felt more like the real finale; the finale is both, with 10 being the other side of the coin to 9. It was a smart move spreading it over two episodes, one for each main faction and location, first the Hightowers and King's Landing and then the Targaryens and Velaryons at Dragonstone. But then I think the languorous pace of the series is one of its greatest strengths, with plenty of time for machinations to build and - definitely in this episode - dialogue to rip (Matt Smith gets the best line of the season here, delivered to Ser Otto on the ramparts. I genuinely laughed out loud at the withering contempt with which he delivered it). Also dammit, I had a knot in my stomach as soon as Rhaenyra sent Lucerys off as an envoy, reassuring him by rubbing her finger on his hand amidst the stiff formality. It was always going to go wrong, the question was how. Which was answered as soon as he arrived and we saw Vhagar towering in the storm. So much for level-headed Rhaenyra wanting to avoid conflict - things are going to get nasty...nastier, even. 2024. Gah!

I get why they ended it the way they did. If it ended with a big battle in King's Landing, they'd burn through the main conflict in the first season. Quite literally, heh. But there's the bloodlust in me that wanted to see the Hightowers get theirs. But the previous episode already felt like a "To Be Continued!" and this one was just like "No Really, To Be Continued...!"

Show runner has since said a 2023 air date isn't out of the question. Enjoyed the ending.. Book wanker moment.. the change to the death being a result of the Dragons going rouge is interesting but still works at causing the Dance of the Dragons war... plus not sure we needed to see young Luces eyes cut out They sure know how to do hard to watch pregnancy scenes! I don't have an issue with the dragon riding scenes though they could do with filming them at a different angle. Think they did a great job telling 20 years in 10 episodes and after having doubts on a show based on the Targaryens I've really enjoyed it.

FWIW, when I said it looked like a video game, I didn't mean the production of it. I just feel like I've played a lot of video games over the years with that exact same set up. You're on a tiny dragon or biplane or something, while a larger dragon or airship or whatever is chasing and attacking you. Swoop in through narrow cliffs to escape. The ending was quite different though.

Yeah, I totally get that, and I did feel the same way re: your comment in the spoiler. But there's something about the restraint I appreciate. I don't even really know why. (although I'm not sure I can fairly describe an heir to the throne being chomped in half above the clouds by a massive dragon as "restraint")

Also I loved the fire under the map table! Looked really cool and you can pop your cuppa on there and it’ll keep it nice and toasty.

This way stops him from being another Joffrey or Ramsey IMO I kept waiting for Phil Daniels to scream out Parklife with him grinning so much during his scene.

That was some good dragony fun. Could see it coming a mile off, as FF said above. Just a question of how. I enjoyed it quite a lot, but it is what it is. Hard to take it too seriously. Olivia Cooke and Emma D'Arcy were great but some slightly iffy casting otherwise. Considine and Ifans in particular didn't seem to fit. 8/10, would watch again.

Enjoyed that series. Some excellent Games of Throning throughout.
Sweet table, too.
They need to do away with the close up dragon riding shots though. It all just looks a bit Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
Well up for another series all in all though.

Disagree on the casting. Thought it was all pretty great. Considine is fantastic in everything he does and was no different here. It was a great character and he portrayed it really well. Both versions of Alicent and Rhaenyra were very good throughout. Even the kids weren't too bad and the chap playing Aemond perfectly captures a character you really want to thump.

Yeah thought all the casting worked. Paddy went from being the guy who didn't want to be king and in over his head to the guy actually holding the realm together. He put on a powerful performance in those last couple episodes.

Casting pretty much fantastic across the board even down to minor characters like Graham McTavish as the Kingsguard commander. Was a great finale and a good setup of the madness to come.

I think the casting is good and that everyone was fantastic in the show. My only issue with the casting I guess, is the time jumps. The two Alicents look about the same age really, and a lot of her kids look about the same age as her by the end of the season. And what was the cause of Viserys death/illness? Sure gave him turbo ageing, meanwhile Otto, Daemon and Rhyneas all still look the same all season basically. Time jumps not the easiest thing to do tbf, and there were so many. So was still a good job.
