Fast and Furious 2: Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson drive very fast and furiously in Miami. Oh and Ludacris makes his debut. Oh and Eva Mendes agreed to star in this movie.[] I think Luda was in the first one. It's Tyrese that debuted here. NOT QUITE, MR. JAMBO Don't dare try out nerd me on F&F. Ludacris made his debut on F&F2 as a mechanic and nowhere near the super hacker genius he turned into later in the series. Take that!

AH SHIT
You're right. I could've sworn Luda was in the drag race scene in the first movie, but a quick IMDB check is showing me it was Ja Rule.

There's a whole other director's cut of MI2 out there that we'll sadly never get to see. Paramount hired John Woo (at the Cruiser's behest), got a John Woo movie, were horrified that they got a John Woo movie, then edited the fuck out of it.
I like all the Wooisms, I like that Ethan is a dick (he's really not in any of the others, he's so worthy it hurts).
Dougray Scott is a real letdown, but then many MI movies don't have a memorable villain (excepting Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who is EASILY the best).

It’s strange John Woo disappearing from Hollywood, he only had one flop after a string of (financial) successes and then vanished back to Hong Kong. The Mozart of Mayhem is back next year directing a Hollywood film called Silent Night.

There's more time between the first Jurassic Park and the upcoming JP film, than between the first Jurassic Park and the 1966 film 1 Million Years BC.

The Winnie the Pooh horror film intrigues me. May never be able to look at him the same...

Dashcam, an upcoming horror film (rated 18 by BBFC) has been banned by Vue and they are not showing it at any of their cinemas. After a staff screening they decide it may offend some people.
Now, I really want to see it.

www.imdb.com/title/tt15174116/This one? Seems that the protagonists are COVID deniers, so probably more likely why they don't want to show it rather than anything actually interesting. A silly reason, although not having seen it can't really judge. Sounds like it is a bit shit though. A shame, as Rob Savage's Host was good fun. Seems this goes with a similar gimmick, but doesn't do it as well.

Joker: folie à deux script has been written by Todd Phillips. Be interesting to see where they go next.

Joker starts a social media account. Joker buys Twitter. Joker develops very strong feelings about the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial.
The ideas basically write themselves.

Prometheus or Covenant, I still don't know which is worse.

I haven't brought myself to watch Covenant yet. Prometheus looked lovely but was garbage.
So, how about that Salt/Alien3 etc then.

Covenant was far worse.
Even if you didn't like Prometheus (I thought it was ok), at least Prometheus had some ideas. Covenant's response was just to say "uhhhh, ok so Prometheus basically didn't happen, here have some more aliens, you like those right", and it was still shit.
Did the same people write both of them? I kind of doubt it, considering how thoroughly the sequel binned the plot of the first one.

Prometheus had a couple of decent scenes. I liked the bit where they are briefing the crew and hologram old man Weyland arrives.
The bit where Noomi Rapace gets pregnant and uses the Auto Doc to remove it is easily the best scene in either Prom or Cov. Genuinely frightful, tense, and futuristic and Alien.
Most of the rest was bollocks though. And Covenant was all shite.

It turns out Prometheus was a prescient warning about sending billionaires into space.

Ridley Scott makes too many films about or involving theology/religion stuff. It’s nearly always shite.

Ridley Scott makes too many films about or involving theology/religion stuff. It’s nearly always shite. Gladiator was epic, and had "This world and the next" and "Echos in eternity" stuff.

And that’s the only one of the last 25 years that was good. His older stuff, even Blade Runner has some of that sort of influence but in recent years it’s always boring and/barely coherent.

Obviously, religion is a very big part of Kingdom of Heaven, and apart from David Thewlis' character literally being an angel, the hypocrisy is well observed in that.
The DC of that film is very underrated, it's one of the best things Scott has done in the last three decades.
