Horrible mental image of both my daughter and my Mum enjoying Ed Sheeran... I didn't mean it that way! Wash your mouth out!

They actually did that here in the UK for the 20th anniversary. Only managed to see Prisoner of Azkaban, but was worth catching on the big screen. Agree though, I wish showing old films at the cinema was more common. They do a bit for anniversaries and over Halloween, but it would be good if it was just a regular thing they did. The mostly empty cinema I'm normally in when they do that (I saw Return of the King completely alone) makes me think it isn't something most people are interested in though.

Itโs fairly common now, I think. I went to see the matrix when it was rereleased recently and it was about as busy as a new movie.

Same, I saw an anniversary screening of Predator and it was rammed and absolutely joyous with everyone getting properly involved.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrongly, but the visuals in the new Avatar trailer aren't as much of a step up as they probably need to be to get the ass temps cranked, relative to the original, which looked genuinely impressive at the time.

Weirdly, I think the official trailer is crappily encoded. Have a look for a 4K (4K imax?) version. It does look pretty special, tbf.

Do they still do that thing where you pay 100 quid to dress in a shell suit and walk around a warehouse while an 80s movie is playing? Canโt for the life of me remember what it was called.

Secret Cinema? Yeah, it was doing really well pre-Covid, still going but I'm not sure if it's as big as it was.

Thatโs the one. I think I tried getting tickets for the bttf one but it turned into a bit of a fiasco.

Went to quite a few and BttF was a good 'un. It was annoying sourcing a costume every 6 months after a while though

Since I donโt live in London they were always just over the level of hassle I can be arsed with for something.
Speaking of which, this came in just under that threshold and we managed to get tickets:

I wonder how long it will be before TC does actual old man character driven roles and what they'll be. Will he be a Gran Torino, or an About Schmidt, or maybe a lovely Dick Van Dyke old man thing.
Or will he quit acting all together when he gets too wrinkly.

I wonder if I will be able to remember the plot of this one? Same as all the others, I'd guess. Based on the various callouts in the trailer theyโre trying to tie all subsequent Mission Impossible films back together into one storyline. Maybe that dude will finally see Ethan Hunt very upset.

Tom Cruise will outlive us all.

I struggle to watch anything with him in now. He's just not a believable human being.

Maybe that dude will finally see Ethan Hunt very upset. HA I GOT THAT REFERENCE. My adrenalines are totally STOKED for this. I totally didn't drive ALL THE WAY to the PEAK DISTRICT to maybe (didn't) CATCH A GLIMPSE of the TRAIN STUNT and I DIDN'T get to see the CRUISER. This will be amazing, you're all dead inside. Like, full of locked engrams.

The MI films are some of the best dumb action films of recent years. Even MI2 seems pretty good compared to the likes of the FF films.
