Blimey, Cineworld going for the throat of a competitor.

I got one! (Well, 3 actually.) Booked tickets for Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and am beyond excited. I really enjoyed Afterlife and hope this keeps ups the momentum from that one.

Excellent. We've just watched them all in prep too. Very much looking forward to it.

This prompted me to book, weirdly Cineworld's site wasn't doing it through my cinema's calendar but it was if you went through a roundabout route.

Once again it's the most exciting time of the year for film fans - that's right, it's when all the films about imaginary friends are released.
Ricky Stanicky, 7th March on Prime Video:
Imaginary, 8th March in cinemas:
IF, 24th May in cinemas:
Who says Hollywood has run out of ideas!

I'm loathe to take seriously a tweet that commends Conor McGregor for producing an outstanding performance.

We're probably due a Drop Dead Fred remake around about now.

There was one in production a while ago. Fred was to be...sigh... Russell Brand. Luckily he shat the bed with Arthur.

I fucking hate this era of scrapping films and TV for the tax write offs. Why should it even be a thing? Encourage destruction, seems utterly ridiculous.

Event Horizon will forever remind me of three things : I really enjoyed it, The Fast Show and Princess Diana's funeral. Was in London with one of my then colleagues to see a recording of The Fast Show so we saw it in Leicester Square (the Empire IIRC), went to BBC Television Centre in the early evening to watch a taping of the show (the one that featured the really disgusting Chanel 9 cookery show which had a lot of out-takes) and the next day Princess Diana was put in the ground. A very memorable weekend in 1997. Shame we're more likely to win the Euromillions jackpot than see the extended version of Event Horizon in decent quality given how the negative was badly stored or just deleted. "Do you see? Do you see?" No, we don't.

Every other film gets a remake so why not that? If its the only way to really get the original story I'm for it.

Streaming series set on the original voyage or a third crew set to find the ones from the movie?

Why are all the worst scenarios we come up with always correct?

At this stage I'd take a "workprint cut" or even just a documentary about it, to see what it could have been. For me, the film is great but does sort of fall a little short especially at the end, so I'd be fascinated to see Anderson's original intention.

It was claimed producer Lloyd Levin has a video of the original cut but then claimed it doesn't exist. Last was no one really knows cause Levin moved to Spain and I'm guessing they can't find said video?

Word on the street is Aliens is now available in 4K wherever you get your movies! Hoping my Apple TV version has been upgraded.

Alien is but not Aliens on Disney+, can't remember if it was 4K before now. Aliens is 4K on iTunes.
I want to watch Alien now.

Hoping my Apple TV version has been upgraded. The one I have has been. I got the 4 pack bundle a while ago, so I dunno if they are all the same version.

Seems to be the exact same version as the individual one going through the links on iTunes.
Just need the best of the trilogy upgrading now.
