My fear is it's the next Snakes on a Plane. That had a good trailer, from what I remember.
But I remain optimistic that it'll stay just the right side of fun.

It's got a pretty good cast! And a really weird The Americans reunion.

It's a strange one, you see the name and think it's some Sharknado B level production then you discover Elizabeth Banks is the director and Lord and Miller are producers.
And if you recognise the male paramedic but can't remember where from, it's Scott Seiss, who did the retail employee videos.

Wow, they're doing Beast Wars? That was my era of Transformers... but I watched the Netflix adaptations of those 360 TF games everyone likes, and I think it brought back that I didn't really like the TF cartoons as much as I did the toys.

They look less shit than I was expecting them to - although Optimus Prime looks both more accurate to the originals and weirdly thin at the same time. If they can keep the human acting to a minimum could be a good pizza night film.

Rise of the Beasts isn't putting me off entirely like the Bay directed films did, but I dunno. The characters are still a tad too close to the Bay films in robot form, a tad too busily designed, but at least Prime is a flat nose truck.
I'll wait for reviews. Bumblebee was surprisingly good, but I'm not expecting this to be as good.

Same issue as the other ones, they don’t really transform, they morph. Try and track any part of that 911 and see where it ends up in the transformer

I know the Bay movies were bad but its nice to see then finally looking like Transformers after all this time

As a frankly huge Transformers fan* I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Bumblebee was excellent but none of the other films were much cop, and The Last Knight was outright terrible.
I do wonder whether they'd have been better off just rebooting the whole thing rather than carry on this X-Men-style semi-reboot/prequel affair, but I guess none of that matters. It looks closer to the Bay films in terms of being a big multi-robot action movie but it does, at least, look more comprehensible and with the likes of Peter Dinklage on board hopefully we'll get some better characterisation of the TFs themselves.
Beast Wars was not my era - I'd tuned out after G1 and didn't get back into it till the comics reboots in the early 00s - but it's got a huge fan following and is considered among the best of the TF storylines, so hopefully they'll have something meaty to base it off.
*of the comics, toyline, and general fandom, I don't like the movies much.

Don't think there's a horror film thread per se so not sure where to put this but as it came up in conversation a few weeks ago, I notice that Lake Mungo is on sale on AppleTV just now. I've never seen it so I picked it up. Going to watch it later.

Nice! Honestly thought the film was going to be the kiss of death for anything to follow.

Someone did film a pilot for Amazon. It was apparently quite good, but it didn't get picked up for a series.
I'm excited by the idea of Flanagan doing it; he's got a great record of King and King-adjacent filmmaking.

Wonder Woman 3 being cancelled as James Gunn enters the ring is interesting. I quite like Gadot in the role, but maybe the director wasn’t working out for them.

Certainly not the parody/homage I was expecting from a Barbie trailer.

Must be said. Never did I think I’d be genuinely interested in going to see a Barbie film.

The closeness between 2001 and the Barbie trailer is impressive.
It was rather nice to see the official Stanley Kubrick Twitter account retweeted the trailer tweet so the family look to be onboard.

Don't remember any similar promos for a film but maybe I'm wrong?

Don't remember any similar promos for a film but maybe I'm wrong? He did the photo on top of a building plus another one for this film if him standing on/holding onto the top of the plane or something like that

The scientology thing makes me wary but I enjoy the vast majority of Cruise films.
MI isn't my favourite franchise but they're watchable.
