Still probably more than you'd get on Spotify for it though.
*No idea if that's true*

I wonder how much of a boost being in a GTA gives songs on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
Heaven 17 get about 300k monthly listeners at the mo.
Edit: found this from the trailer
The GTA 6 trailer uses Tom Petty's Love is a Long Road, taken from the late rocker's 1989 album Full Moon River. Spotify said streams of Love is a Long Road have skyrocketed following the release of the GTA 6 trailer, by a whopping 36,979% compared to this time last week.

Surely there’s some kind of standard payment scheme in place. Is this them trying to get around it?

Yeah you can't ask for more than the standard just because it's GTA. Work on being the standard price up.
Being in the game will bring you crap loads of attention and possible sales.

I guess the question is does that all go to the artist or does it have to be split amongst other people? 4K doesn't really sound like a lot for 1m streams.

There are performance fees for the people who actually recorded the song, but I think they’re a pittance compared to the cut the writer gets.
There are also shitty practices like getting the music re-recorded by sessions musicians paid peanuts in a one off fee, that then cuts the original musicians out of the payment and the listener can’t tell the difference.
Pretty sure that it happened to members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience

As usual the figure that was initially quoted has been falsely amplified for "reasons". The offer was actually 7.5K EACH for 3 writers. It's still not great but it's interesting how the initial tweet from him painted it as 7.5k only. He also made a counter offer for 75k which was rejected. www.reddit.com/r/GTA6/s/voXkNq7VQa

It's not going to be a 'featured' song. It's basically a large scale radio station. Also £75k X what, 800 songs?. That's a lot of money.

www.ign.com/articles/will-ps5-pro-run-gta-6-at-4k60-probably-not-say-the-expertsI think there's good evidence to suggest that the [GTA 6 trailer from last year] was running on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X,” says Richard Leadbetter, technology editor at Digital Foundry. As such, the impressive level of graphical detail seen in that trailer should be achievable using the power of the original 2020 model PlayStation 5. It stands to reason, then, that the new PS5 Pro will be more than capable of delivering what we saw in that short glimpse of Vice City. Frame rates, though, are an entirely different thing. When asked if GTA 6 could realistically run at 60 frames-per-second on the PS5 Pro, Leadbetter is blunt in his analysis: “No. Grand Theft Auto games have always run complex simulations that push the CPU hard, which is why every GTA game has initially launched on their target platforms at 30fps (or lower!).

Surely the target platform is the PS5, not the pro?

I imagine that'd have been the case initially but if ever there were to be a game to move your ridiculously overpriced new console, it'd be the promise of 'GTA 6 is best played on the PS5 Pro!'.

Surely the target platform is the PS5, not the pro? Yeah but the inference is that there won't be a FPS uplift on the pro console because it'll be CPU heavy and no amount of extra GPU grunt is going to alleviate a CPU limitation

Yeah but it'll most likely be a cleaner presentation witha higherresolution, it has the same cpu it's not going to magically double performance.

Oh I know that, you know that, etc. But does old mate who only plays GTA:O and each new CoD know that? There are plenty of people who have disposable income who only ever want the best, or feel they need the best because their online buddies or co-workers do, and I feel like there is no game like that that would shift more consoles based off of the premise than GTA6.

If there’s a locked 60fps mode on Pro I will be very tempted. But yeah it’s extremely unlikely.

It's only really occurred to me that the PC version will likely follow the console releases.
So a longer wait for me.
I mean it's a known fact, but I'd forgotten. No way I'm buying a console to play it though.

As part of its Quarterly Earnings report for Q2 2025, Take-Two has confirmed that the highly anticipated Gran Theft Auto 6 will be launching in Fall 2025. With the GTA franchise now selling over 435 million units, with 205 million of that attributed to Gran Theft Auto V, there's no doubt that GTA 6 is easily one of the most anticipated games of all time. Based on the hype, it is simply a question of 'how big will it be,' especially when you factor in that the PC version probably won't arrive until late 2026 at the earliest. That means nothing until I see confirmed date. I'm pretty sure Gta 5 and Red Dead 2 all delayed in the same year as their original release date.

I'm not sure about Red Dead 1 but yeah gta 4 was delayed in the same year. It might come out in Autumn but pretty much the majority of Rockstar North's output has been delayed. I'm still calling 2026 for this.

Same here. When I heard the late 2025 date I immediately figured on April 2026 Rockstar always slip.
