I'm saving my replay of RDR2 in the hopes they do tart it up. It's such an incredible game, one of those that even when I wasn't playing it I was thinking about it.

GTA V looks way worse than RDR2 even with the enhanced updates for this gen. It is a PS3 game after all. It is a bit of a shame they haven’t tarted RDR2 up a bit for this gen as it would look incredible. Maybe once GTA 6 is finally out. It would be great if they did but I feel like they would only do that if RDR Online was as booming as GTA Online still is. |

You’re probably right. Although they did a (admittedly incredibly half arsed) updated PS2 trilogy for this gen so you never know.

Didn't they already announce a remaster and then cancel it? It was never officially announced, but it was part of the GTA VI leakathon. It was apparently a few years old and the project was apparently binned. |

The cynical side of me believes that they just think why spend studio time and money on your existing customers who’ve already paid for RDR2 when they can just ignore us for now and then try and milk us again a few yrs down the line when they do knock out an updated rerelease on PS6 etc.
They are a business after all so fair play… guess they could charge for a PS5 upgrade like a nominal £5 or something similar and at least we would then have the choice to make. I would prefer to at least have the option rather than just having to play a game that feels unoptimised especially when it is a such a long (and some would say in parts laborious?) one?

Given how lazily they updated GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas, not to mention how half-assed the PS4/Switch port of the original Red Dead Redemption was, I don't see Rockstar bothering to make meaningful improvements to any of their past titles in future.

Not sure if it was cancelled though.

One of the best things about rockstar games is the writing..didn't the co founding member/the main writer leave straight after rdr2 finished? Will be interesting to see the difference.

I would be shocked if they don't go for a season pass with this game. I'm sure I heard that only part of the map was going to be available at launch and open up the rest later on when they have finished it proper. Might be all bullshit apart from the price gouging.

No chance this will be revealed at The Game Awards, not only because I think Rockstar doesn't need it but mostly because TGA is on in the early hours of Friday morning for all of Europe and why would they want to miss out on the buzz of releasing it when their biggest potential market isn't awake?
It'll probably be a midday EST release so it gets tons of coverage.
