I wouldn’t have thought Kia would be too thirsty on oil? I know from experience of BMW that it does. It's not had an oil change since I've had it so it doesn't surprise me. Will just whack a litre in to keep it going until the service and MOT.

In unrelated car news, I see the new Toyota Landcruiser has been revealed fully. It is a gorgeous machine and I would dearly love one. Especially the 5000 limited starter models with the round headlights. Sadly all ICE and only a mild hybrid on the cards at some point The fast charging network in Syria is still a bit spotty, so I get it.

Just traded in my 1 litre for a 1.5 today. I’ve got the dreaded wet belt replacement coming up for £1.5k, but I saw the same model, with a 1.5 engine that would cost £1k, and has a chain belt… so no costly replacement. It could be a stroke of genius, or another mistake..

Finally getting my salary sacrifice EV on Monday. Amazingly, it’s coming with a plate that has my wife’s initials which she is obviously taking as a sign that I should be driving her skip to work and she should have the new one.

Coincidentally my wife's salary sacrifice EV was supposed to be coming this Wednesday also, but we got an email this week that's pushed it back to April 8th. And there I was scrambling round trying to get a charge point installed in time.

I had a dream last night where I parked my beautiful Honda jazz in a place where there were about 20 identical Honda jazz's.
All the same colour as mine too.

I don’t want a Tesla but with their charging network I think that’s what I’m going to end up with. I’ve got about 6 months to decide.
I know others may be getting aches too that network and they’re getting better but they are nearly all more expensive as well.

I’d rather walk than get a four wheeled MAGA hat. Nah, it’s a Vauxhall Mokka E. Nothing hugely exciting. Apparently stellantis make one car and put a different frock on it to turn it into a Vauxhall Mokka, a DS 3, a Jeep Avenger or a Fiat 600e. And maybe a Citroen.

I know the Hyundai Ionic 5 and the equally lovely Kia EV6 are the same platform with minor changes. Makes sense.

They span off their taste the difference range to its own thing like seat and cupra, I think.
I was just going to get something to run me around so I looked at the e208, then the mrs said she’d like to be able to drive it and would prefer a crossover, so we looked at the e2008 which was really nice but when it came to order, the mokka was a decent bit cheaper so we just went with that.
I still can’t quite get over it being a mokka. The old GM one was a real piece of shit but this looks really nice, drives well and has all the gear.

It’s great that it’s not just the big marquee models in electric and that there’s a good bit of depth to the offerings. I saw a corsa electric will be one of the cheapest on the market soon

It was the same with the corsa, too. The corsa e, e208 and the Citroen C4 are basically the same car depending on how boring you want the trim
I suppose it cuts down on the number of test drives you have to do.

Love the paint, love the optional baguette carrier. Wish it looked more like an original Renault 5.

I used to have a Renault 5 - great little car. This new one looks really nice - lots of styling reflective of the classic. I like the internal dash as well. Baguette holder? Um.

The wife had one when we met. A proper barn find. Her gran garaged it in 86 and her dad dug it out and tarted it up on 2003 to get it back on the road. It properly kicked the bucket in 09 and needed an engine rebuild so we sold it for parts.
Hmmm.... I would love to get her one of these but I don't really want two EVs on the drive.

Late brake show is great, much prefer it to that tall chap on Fully charged show
I'd love to swap my Tesla for one of those if I wasn't so fucked over by falling value of this flippin' thing and on HP for another few years.
Would look ace sat next my Clio Williams 2 two too.

Oh I have memories of holidaying on the Isle of Wight as a kid, and seeing a Clio Williams. The gold rims. Beautiful.

Would look ace sat next my Clio Williams 2 two too. Where do you live? Just so I can come around and..... see it... and definitely not steal it. (I used to have a PH2 172. If bits didn't fall off it like a clown car it would be in with a shout of being the best car I ever owned).

Someone I used to work with had a 172 and after driving me to work a couple of times it took me by surprise how rapid it was. Grippy as owt too.

Definitely not in leafy Cheshire. in fact it's out for some restoration as the rust had taken hold, the sills were like soggy paper mache. I dread to think of the cost and I haven't check in since December, it should still be there right! Not a 172 but saw this on PH the other day www.pistonheads.com/buy/auction/16094991

That's not bad milage for a 90k car and if the belts have been done recently, that's not a bad price. God, the belts, christ. Full engine out job because its a 2L NA engine in a ladies shopping trolley. That I do not miss....
