About a month lead time here. Had a Zappi because of the solar and ordered directly from them. Very happy with the install too, very neat and tidy Funnily enough, decided waiting a month for a video call was ripping the piss, rang a local EV specialist up the road last week and they're installing a Zappi charger this Friday. That's with some additional work needing to be done to the house's electrics as well, which I'm sure would have taken British Gas an absurd amount of time to sort. Yep they told me to take a few photos of the meter cupboard and where I wanted the charger and that was it. They said I'd need a new isolator fitted and to contact my energy company (Octopus) who understood the assignment and that part was done in a few weeks for free. They also let me book my install before the isolator was fitted, as long as I had a date for it. Have you got an off-peak electricity tariff sorted? I'm excited to finally be able to go on Intelligent Octopus

But the service wouldn't have picked up the belt.. right? because it's contained within oil, and hence why it costs over a grand to get it replaced, as they need to strip it all back. They claim that as the belt is in the oil, any 'good will' on the belt requires the oil to serviced. Time to contact your insurance? Like I say something similar happened to me recently and ultimately I only ended up on the hook for my excess, which in theory I should get back one day (ha). It was incredibly stressful though

Just came in here to ask if anyone has a model Y. Test drove one yesterday and liked it. It's up against an EV6, Q4 or iX1. Drove an EV6 about 2 years ago and loved it...going to test drive it again on Monday. I'm terms of space the model Y is huge. The drive was nice and smooth and it felt Fucking massive to drive and yet fast. I liked the fact that it has a lot of stuff as standard. I'm not bothered about the frankly ugly premium colours or Elons shitty autopilot. I don't think the German cars are going to be able to manage the price/feature comparison but let's see. My only doubt about the tesla is that it doesn't have apple carplay , I'm just concerned about lack of live traffic updates if I don't get premium connectivity. Can anyone confirm if you can get live traffic updates by just using your phone network connectivity? The tesla site says something confusing about needing premium connectivity for live traffic visualisation but standard connectivity includes traffic based routing. Late to reply but I can help if not too late. Got model Y with 50,000 miles clocked up so well versed on the pros and cons. It uses live traffic data to route even without premium connectivity subscription however with this it doesn’t overlay all the busy red, amber and green roads on the map. It will always reroute to current traffic conditions and you can set it to how many minutes Saving before it activates a route change. When you put somewhere to navigate to it offer 3 routes to select taking current traffic into consideration. You can watch use the in car Spotify app or other live apps such as Netflix and YouTube (when parked) if you connect the car to your phone’s personal hotspot but you have to connect every time you get in the car. Pros - It’s huge inside - not having to go to petrol stations - No key. As much as I hate the fact I’m a Tesla Wanker I don’t know what other car I could buy as I don’t think I the go back to needing a key - pre warming car and seats in app Cons - you’re a tesla driver, sometimes sat in traffic seeing 5 or 6 of them around me and a part of me dies inside -Autopilot, it’s shite, always has been but AAC that comes standard is very good - insurance cost Thanks for the reply! We ended up getting an ix1, arriving Wednesday. The Model Y didn't sit well with my wife, too big and empty. The ix1 is happy mixture of electric and familiarity. It too has key less entry.

I was considering getting an EV through salary sacrifice but there are some really good deals on 1-2yo used at the moment. Definitely getting into bank loan territory and actually owning the thing.
Decisions, decisions.

I think cost of living is really starting to bite in the car dealerships.

Got my Model Y. Jesus Christ it can move.
Loving the one pedal control.
Oh by the way: 🎵 I sold my car through We Buy Any Car 🎵. Little tip - get a quote online, and then completely ignore it for a few weeks. They will keep automatically emailing you with an increased offer.
The process was really easy to be fair. No doubt you get less than selling privately but it's literally done and dusted within 20 minutes. They weren't phased by the engine replacement at all, thank god. Nor should they, really, but I was sure it was going to be used as an excuse to lower the offer.
I bet they see all walks of life coming through. Another tip, try to be coy when they ask you what your next car is during the chit chat phase. I told them what I was upgrading to and we had a conversation about it all within earshot of a young woman, who it later turned out was selling her only car for a few hundred pounds and was going to have to get the bus everywhere because she couldn't afford to run it any more. I wanted to die

www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/reclaim-car-finance/Wish I had all the details, I shredded the vast majority of mine and only kept the slips from the DVLA to say I no longer own these cars. Four cars all on finance deals under Ford credit Europe. Lets see how this goes. Over 130,000 complaints have gone in so far apparently just using the template provided.

Interesting! I've had 4 cars through finance, and again I have no clue on the numbers aside from the most recent one.
I really regret getting myself into a position of finance, as it's very hard to get out of. Of course everyone has their reasons/affordability, but when I rarely used mine in the end, paying £250 a month to sit on my drive most of the week.. pointless.

I don't regret getting into it but I do regret carrying it on and getting another couple of cars. I was given my first car by my grandparents and then a year later the government at the time announced the scrappage scheme and all of a sudden this £250 at best Skoda meant I had at least 1k or whatever it was against a new car.
I paid the remaining balance on the current car about 6 years ago as I was going for a mortgage. Try my best to look after it and get a 2nd hand car when the time comes.

Yellow oil light came on last night (2018 Sportage). Spent the night researching the right brand etc of oil (as it's still under warranty, I don't want to risk just chucking anything in there). Not on this morning when I started it to do the dipstick test (which was weirdly inconclusive). I'll grab some oil anyway before driving it again. Annoying, it's due a service in 2 weeks and definitely due an oil change.

I wouldn’t have thought Kia would be too thirsty on oil? I know from experience of BMW that it does.

And VW. Back when I had my company car I always had a litre of oil in the boot of my Leon just in case.

In unrelated car news, I see the new Toyota Landcruiser has been revealed fully.
It is a gorgeous machine and I would dearly love one. Especially the 5000 limited starter models with the round headlights.
Sadly all ICE and only a mild hybrid on the cards at some point
