I am quite happy to say I like James Blunt. His music is insipid but I think he's pretty cool. It's like the opposite to usual issue of liking someone's music, but knowing they are awful people. Aye, seems like a top guy.

He can’t save ‘Bake off But Beer’ on Amazon Prime. The format is so thin they give them crayons for one an arts and crafts round and make them design a label for their lagers.
It’s so shit.

He’s like a shit Marc Maron.
Edit: Rogan, not James Blunt.

To be fair, that’s what made him an, arguably, great interviewer. He got interesting, smart people on and asked them the questions like an average dumbass. I think everyone has listened to him at some point because he’s had someone they are interested in. Then, eventually, it just became a parade of arselickers and fuckheads. His episodes on physics and space and stuff are genuinely good for those exact reasons. It's been a pretty gradual crawl over to the alt right/conspiracy shit but he's balls deep in it now. He's become a pretty real danger now.

Yeah, I listened to him for space stuff and he used to have UFO hunters on and whatnot. He’s got a good back catalogue.
But I did remove the sub a while ago as I haven’t listened to an episode for absolutely ages because he interviews just *so* many cunts. And the same ones over and over.

What’s happened to my topic tiltle!!! You fuckers have gone full big brother on me....
Also rogan was great around three years ago when he had scientists on explaining the Amazon jungle ruins, People covering Great white shark attacks, scientists doing space stuff and the general adventurer stuff. But he is a complete alt right MMA loving, truth finder fuckwit now.
Has anybody seen Russell brands YouTube channel? He is basically now the English version.

He can't even use the 'giving everyone a chance' excuse (which some Voltairean part of me sort of agrees with) because, as mentioned, it's the same list of deplorables he has on now, endlessly. He knows his main audience and has cleaved to it, and Spotify has endorsed that.
Some of the people who've been on his show in the past must now cringe a bit. I would.

Yeah, Brand is the same, because $. I think some part of him thinks he's still being some libertarian provocateur, when he's checking his revenue totals at night.
Again, I wonder if some of the lefty luvvies who pushed Brand as their celeb ambassador cringe at what he's become now.

I used to think he was alright about 10-15 years ago, he was obviously a bit of a pleb but I thought he had decent morales and views. Wow was i wrong.... he’s a money obsessed conspiracy dickhead who will do anything to appeal to the American right cult

He was the layman that allowed the transfer of expert knowledge via actual experts. Now he's a layman that thinks he knows better than he does about a lot of things and has become a role model for irritating dummies.

Jericho is a buffoon. He's an entertaining wrestler, but his podcast very quicklu soured me on the guy overall.

He’s obviously got an incredible brain for wrestling and the grift but his other opinions all over the place. Like he’s always one of the biggest GoFundMe donors when a wrestler is hurt or sick but then he always gave thousands to the Trump campaign. I think he’s a pretty textbook case of a capable guy with all the wrong information.

Rumours that Swift will follow suit soon.
Apparently the podcast side of Spotify actually generates money for them, due to ad sales, unlike the music side which hadn't seen them turn a profit in over a decade.
I just don't understand why people would bother using Spotify for podcasts, when the podcasts have ads on them still.

Swift is about as meaningful to my daily life as Rogan*, but if it encourages Spotify to rethink what they publish then fine
And yeah, I don't think I've ever listened to a podcast on Spotify. Acast and BBC Sounds cover pretty much everything. Spotify aren't about to get the other exclusives they need like Maron**, Stuff you Should Know and the Brit stuff after this debacle
*they both suck arse albeit for different reasons. **Can't be fucked to skip through his half hour stream of conciousness/hey how here's how my really rich week was, thing, at the start of every ep anymore

Spotify need Swift, she's the highest streaming female artist on there, if she goes their shares will halve overnight.

My recent barber experience with the new guy was pretty much this.
Him "is that Taylor Swift's new song?" Me "Eh... Kind of sounds like her. I don't listen to the radio much." Him "YEAH, she's fucking amazing if I could invent a time travel device I'd go back in time and say hey are you Taylor swift and she'd say yeah how did you know? and then I'd club her on the head and take her away to the log cabin that I'd built for me and her" Me "Eh... Sounds like you've got it all mapped out. Any idea when my regular barber is back?..."
Human interaction is bad enough without wondering if you need to report the other human to the authorities

Yeah, the damage she could to their share price is the only thing that might make them wobble on an issue like this. Certainly moreso than a pair of old hippies or thousands of people inserting horse enemas up their noses or whatever Rogan has platformed most recently

It seems appropriate.

It was so surreal. I've probably cut his part short, but that was the general gist of it from memory. He barely even took a breath.

Every BBC article about this seems to need to end with a line about Rogan denying being anti-vax and actually saying he was pro-vax. Though as I mentioned before, his twitter feed is 100% retweets of anti-vax posts. They don't seem to mention that though. Spotify need Swift, she's the highest streaming female artist on there, if she goes their shares will halve overnight. Yeah, the damage she could to their share price is the only thing that might make them wobble on an issue like this. Certainly moreso than a pair of old hippies or thousands of people inserting horse enemas up their noses or whatever Rogan has platformed most recently Wasn't she already off spotify for a while though? It seemed like the recent consensus was that lots of artists needed spotify at least as much as spotify needed them. I agree that it would make some kind of impact though.

Rumours that Swift will follow suit soon. What, she's going to start an alt-right conspiracy theory podcast? 'Why my ex-boyfriend dumped me for the deep state.' 'Kanye ACTUALLY interrupted my Grammy speech because Pizzagate snipers were trained on me - my eyes are now open, thank you Kanye.'

At this point I'd jump in with some clever Taylor Swift lyric based puns but I honestly don't know a single one of her songs.

Covid flipped Brand, same as a lot of people. His conversion to the darkside has been fairly dramatic. A combination of thinking you are smarter than you are combined with an insatiable diet of internet "facts" and youtube videos has turned him full QAnon Sith. Big pharma villains, democrat pedo's and anti-vaxx. A baying crowd in the comments and of course the the harder you lean into the alt-right the bigger the audience/paychecks.

I went way too far down a hole in this thing last night. I've not seen anything concrete about Swift leaving the service (and currently - according to someplace or other online - she's not the highest streaming artist - she's not top 10 either). I mostly came out of this with an even greater dislike for "influencers" who will do and say anything to get more viewers and the companies that support them.
I realised also I'm spending too much time in the cess pit of the internet and it's not good for me. I've cleared most apps from my phone last night and have timers on now. I'm considering what to do about this place as I've an addictive personality (hence a previous drink problem) and I'm not good at moderation. I'm working on that as this place has benefits.
Tldr Rogen is more of a dick than I previously thought and Spotify are corporate sellouts.
