Muffin, unless it isn't actually a muffin and is instead what I tend to think of now as a bog standard roll (from having lived down south too much). WTF kind of answer is that. May as well say "elephant, unless it isn't actually an elephant".

Pasty Barm: Carby Death Snack. *heart* I honestly can't imagine what eating that would be like. Fucking pie sandwich for fucks sake. It's sort of like a massive carbohydrate overload. You can feel your arteries hardening. I wouldn't want to eat one regularly, but I'd have one ahead of a traditional rat meat kebab after a few beers. Don't they used to eat pease pudding stotties in your neck of the woods? Really not that different...

It looks like a bread sandwich. Yeah, it's not the best photo. Inside the pastry is beef, swede and potato (so a Cornish Pasty) In a huge bread roll. Keep a man on his feet for days.

Ahh okay.
I thought you were craving a sandwich, asked Mrs. dogbot "what have we got?" She answered "more bread." and you said "that'll do."

I'm having a pasty tomorrow. There's a little shop called the cornish pod that make the best pasties in the area. They also sell a doughnut masquerading as an iced bun which is lovely.

There.
I said it.

Pie and chips are okay so pie and bread must be ok right. I think it would taste nice with a bit of sauce, I'll even eat chips with it.

I use bap and roll pretty interchangeably - to refer to the bread. A cob is a crusty version.
Once it has been made into a sandwich it's a cob regardless of the crustiness if it is cold. If it's hot, I'd probably say "bacon bap" or "sausage on a bread roll" etc., unless the bread is crusty, in which case the crustiness takes priority and its a cob again. This took a lot of thinking btw.
"Bun" is a sweet variation of a bread roll, e.g. it has currants or raisins in it or something (e.g. hot cross bun). They're like one step away from being a cake.
But like other non-psychopaths I've never heard the other four options ever except for within this exact same debate

Cornish pasties are dreadful. Dry, boring and tasteless. There. I said it. I grew up on Jamaican patties, so I'd have to agree. But I'm comparing homemade to store bought, so it might not be fair. I even went to some specialised pastie shops whilst on holiday in Cornwall, all of em served pasties as you described. Just devoid of flavour and dry pastry.
I had an aussie pie the other day, these guys have a market stall near me
Had the steak and cheese, tastiest pie I've ever had. Fackin well spiced moist meaty cheesey goodness

And it's not just the whiff of someone who had been hard at work all day and is a tad pongy but full blown, horrendous BO that I'm not sure a shower would even fix.

I genuinely eat pie sandwiches. I’m sorry.
As a kid, mainly due to reasons of impoverishment, we had bread and butter with pretty much every meal.
I got into the habit of “Everything Sandwiches” - a bit of everything from your plate in folded bread and butter.
So, fish, chips and mushy peas sandwiches, and so on. Sunday roast; the lot!

The whole 'bread and butter with your tea' thing really is a true British working class institution isn't it? It was definitely a staple in my home, especially with Friday dinner from the chippy.

Shitty white bread with a load of butter is fucking amazing with a traditional meat and three veg type dinner and of course with any kind of casserole.

Have you ever had a baked potato sandwich? I have them often. Worse still, some would say, I have tinned potato sandwiches with pepper and parsley. I really do.
