Biden looks like he could peg it at any time, worrying as he is the only one that can stop Trump getting in. Would like the Vice president to come in and really upset the Reps.
So depressing seeing what Politics has become here and in the US , the headshaking behind Biden during his speech, and recently the face pulling by that tory minister behind Martin Lewis in that committee.
Bipartisan closed mindedness will do the human race in.

Joe Biden is not the only one who can stop Trump getting in. There must be hundreds who can. But he's the only one the Dems bothered with, so that's where they are.

All the proposed alternatives do worse than Biden in a match up against Trump. Including Harris. Maybe there is an alternative. But to me it really feels like a "grass is always greener on the other side" kind of thing. Whoever they choose won't have nearly as much name recognition as Biden, they will be researched and attacked and made absolutely toxic, and Democrats will just go along with it. Because moaning about their own side is what they do best.

The really shitty thing is that Biden has actually done a pretty good job in his first four years.
And nobody fucking cares. Information doesn't get through to Republican voters because they don't trust it, and Democratic voters throw their toys out of the pram because they didn't get literally everything they wanted.
Not even the fact that *Biden beat Trump before* seems to make any kind of difference. He just can't make anyone happy.

Can you imagine the amount of misinformation (there's already a shitload) if Musk was to bail out Trump?

I know this apparently doesn't matter now, but Biden *went to Ukraine while it was being bombed*. IN PERSON.
Just imagine Trump ever doing that.

FWIW Biden looked pretty damn healthy and spry last night, between roasting the heckling Republicans with their own words and actions, slamming the Supreme Court on Roe vs Wade (again, with things they wrote in their opinion piece in that trial) and lines like "You can't love your country only when you win" and "Turning setback into comeback - THAT'S what America does". Certainly far healthier than the guy that can barely string together a sentence without mumbling half the words and mangling the rest... The Republican "rebuttal" afterwards was a joke by comparison, too. If the best Faux News could come up with was "He hurt our fee fees made it too partisan", you know he did well

This seems like a bad idea. The army aren't really trained to deal with and de-escalate the situations that might happen in civilian life. Then again, neither are the US police I guess. www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68508331the Army replied:
The army is even less qualified to de-escalate the situations but I guess they are hoping someone with rifle is going to put off anyone trying to murder anymore people on the subway

I'm glad that Biden is going on the attack. I'm a little sceptical that he can turn the narrative around, but he needs to at least try.

Same here - I was starting to think that he'd go down without even throwing a punch, but I'm pleased to see I was wrong.
If this version of Biden can appear more often between now and November, he might just pull it off.

I'm glad that Biden is going on the attack. I'm a little sceptical that he can turn the narrative around, but he needs to at least try. Changing a narrative that is already fairly well established is really, really hard. Having said that, one of the biggest issues the Democrats seem to be facing is apathy. The attitude seems to be everything is shit, so why bother? Perhaps a more energetic and exciting Joe could help things. A harder message to go with as the incumbent, but if they can get some positivity going it certainly isn't going to hurt. May need to be careful about going on too much about how great the economy is though. It might be true, but lots of people feeling the pinch are unlikely to believe it.

Interesting piece about the possibility of property based financial problems that could blow up in the next 6 months. What a $1 deal says about America's office market www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68472143
