McConnell endorsed Trump for president btw. The same Trump he's been blaming for the "disgraceful" Jan. 6 events.
And the sheeple fall in line...

Yeah exactly, haven't you noticed that he's old?
He really should do something about that.

If only he had better genes, like Dr. John Trump. Good genes, very good genes, ok, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart...

"Hey dad, when the people who had tried to dismantle democracy & who told you they'd do it again actually went ahead and did it, what did you do?"
"Well son, I stayed at home complaining the other guy was too old"
I mean, I get the concerns with Biden's age but that's going to be the least of their concerns if Trump wins.

Honestly even Biden's age doesn't seem like much of a downside to me. He's still perfectly articulate and cromulent (more than cromulent, in fact) and, even if he croaks while President, that just means we potentially get President Kamala Harris (assuming she's still VP) and mass aneurysms from the MAGAts and Trump at the sight, everyone wins

Biden's less than four years older than Trump.
He's prone to the odd senior moment, as you'd expect, but still talks more coherently on his worst day than Trump does when firing on all cylinders.
Trump seemingly thought that Super Size Me was a lifestyle guide, and he's at least as likely to die in office as Biden is.
Even if you like Trump's political positions, how can you turn a blind eye to his lack of mental and physical fitness, while decrying Biden for being a bit old and doddery?

Slightly older than usual, or a rapist and insurrectionist?
A real tough one.

I also understand that the Israel Gaza conflict is a big issue amongst many younger voters but it's baffling to think it will change if they do a protest vote or not vote at all. But I suppose it's thay specific fallacy which proposes I can't do anything so why bother.

Joe Public: Politicians don't listen to me so I won't participate in democracy.
Politicians: Oh sorry, was someone speaking just now?

a protest vote will only mean trump as POTUS and then it will mean Russia becoming stronger as less weapons for Ukraine and trump doing what ever putin tells him to as Republican's clap like seals. More racism against Mexican and black people, more alt right shit which would make some boys proud, more mass shootings due to republicans love of the NRA and lax gun laws when you throw in worse mental health issues (sometimes due to lack of funding)
The protest voters seem to have tiktok brains but at least they will send a message to Biden right I get gaza conflict is a massive issue but Biden administration is walking a tightrope in the USA. Was hoping Biden's person who is trying to bring peace (forgot his name) was the best chance but its almost impossible right now

Honestly, I really think they should be bringing peace to the Middle East a bit faster. It can't be that hard! Not when there's so many people like myself frowning at the Biden administration urging them to hurry up with the stupid talks and negotiations. Don't they realise how annoyed we are?!
Just get me in the talks, I'll have it all wrapped up by tomorrow.

I still can't believe there isn't a sizeable majority of Americans who would think "well I might not like Biden, but Jesus fuck, I'm not having that guy back again, holy shit."

From looking at a few media interviews, there seems to be a general feeling in the US (and UK) that things are a mess, the situation is grim, etc.. which is leading the frustration and disillusionment.
The difference seems to be that, by most traditional measures, the US is actually doing pretty well at the moment, and the UK is not.
But if everyone is feeling negative, that's more likely to hurt the incumbent than the opposition.
Everyone also seems unhappy with how divided politics has become, but that unhappiness just leads to more division.

Not division, polarisation. Division can be good in a system that values it.

This seems like a bad idea. The army aren't really trained to deal with and de-escalate the situations that might happen in civilian life. Then again, neither are the US police I guess. www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68508331
