I've been playing the original n64 F-Zero and Ocarina games on my Wii, and they still look find. Mario Kart 64 too. I kinda like the look. But the games where they tried to make things look realistic sure haven't aged well.

Does that mean the cost of subscription is going up?

I joked about the wireless mega drive controllers in the comments section of eurogamer earlier today. I will now be buying two of them.

Kirby looks good, nice to have a new Nintendo platformer.

Kirby and Bayonetta 3 looked decent, meh apart from that. The Mario Kart FF skin was laughable, they didn't make any effort at all to make a different game.

Sure the movie will be gash but Charlie Day sounds like a good choice.

Seen the messenger is on sale. Anyone played this? Reviews seem decent and it may tickle my 16 bit shinobi desires

I currently pay 30 quid for me and 6 others to have access to the online stuff. Fair enough the online gaming component is completely bare bones, but I actually get good use out of the retro games and the two '99' games. If they can genuinely flesh out this service with more games and platforms I would be happy to pay 40 to 50 quid a year for it.
As somebody who lost their entire physical retro collection a few years back (from NES/Master System through to the PS2 era), a subscription model is now the most affordable and attractive method for revisiting these games. Even the Virtual Console service looks expensive compared to this.

Good to see Nintendo still know how to take the piss and absolutely gouge it's player base.

No way I'll pay more for a handful of N64 games. I don't touch any of the games as it is and just have it so my kids can play Mario Kart with their friends.

I pay just under 3 quid a year for the switch online (family 12 months is at most 24 quid). Have done since the start. So have now paid a total of about 12 quid.
If the subscription puts the family price up by 10 quid it is only another quid per family member for all the new games.
Probably would not be buying many if any outright if they did a virtual console shop. Especially at 6 or more per game. But 1 quid a year represents pretty good value imo, so much so I will be looking to upgrade the family's membership.

I bought a year of online recently just so that I could do fresh cloud save backups and factory reset my switch to see if that fixed the performance in 3D world... Turns out you can't back up your Pokemon S/S save which is pretty fucking frustrating, so I never did the reset.
I played Super Metroid again though, so guess it was worth it...

Yeah, there's a few games you just can't back up, which is really stupid. I do hope Nintendo sort that nonsense out for the next gen. They've get a lot of negative feedback regarding it. Especially with Splatoon and Animal Crossing.

My kids mainly play Fortnite and Rocket League on the Switch, so I haven't needed to fork out for the Nintendo Online yet.

Bit of a crock to bring in online+. I wonder how much the extra cost will be, I would love to be able to play F-Zero again.

Oct 12th for Disco Elysium! Must buy if you haven't already played it. I'm tempted to double dip... I am tempted, but feel it would be better suited to my larger pc monitor than switch? Portable mode is going to be unreadable?

Keen to see how they've adapted Disco to the smaller screen. I also wouldn't mind having it on Xbox, because I'm not playing many PC games at the moment given I'm at my desk a lot of the day working. Come on Game Pass!
Why on Earth didn't Nintendo announce pricing? So many bizarre choices out of that company.
