So I have a switch lite which I love, however I've been offered a OLED for 220, is the jump worth it? I use it predominatly for handheld. Just thinking ahead with a switch 2 / lite 2 maybe being released in next 24 months or so.

Considering you can probably make a chunk of that back by selling your old one, I'd jump on it personally. I've been tempted by the OLED too as I've been using my switch a decent amount lately.

Really wish Nintendo would have done some kind of trade in deal on standard/lite Switch to OLED. I would jump on the opportunity to have one for £50-100. For full price though, it doesn't seem worth the upgrade, as lovely as I'm sure the screen is.
Hopefully, if there is a Switch 2, it will come with an OLED from the start (although, knowing Nintendo, they will wait 18 months before releasing an OLED version).

Anyone played Live a Live, I've had it since launch but can't seem to muster the strength to play it.

Don't Game (I know) usually do something like this? I traded my PS4 Pro with a few games about 6 months ago to get a series X. I was surprised how much I got at trade in.

I assume it is just their normal trade in deal rather than a particular upgrade deal. Looks like you can only get a price in store, but other trading stores, such as CEX, are only giving about £120 or so for a trade-in. Still means you are paying about £200 for the OLED, which doesn't seem particularly worth it just for the improved screen.

Yeah that's not great though I think they also do offers with trade in at times or if you use the Game trade in app you get a larger trade in amount.

I've only played the Chinese section of the demo, but enjoyed it quite a bit. Likely will pick it up when I'm done with Xenoblade 2 (and Astral Chain and Judgment on PS5 and whatever else I get distracted by).

Pulled the trigger on the oled. What with trading in my lite brings it to about 120ish which seemed like a no brainer
Bit worried it will be too big for my commute but worried my lite will drift at some point with amount of use it gets.

It's the same footprint as the regular switch which is the perfect size for my commute. The officially licensed Hori tough shell is a nice case if you're looking for a low profile one and just slips into a backpack no probs.

I love the WaveRace games but I have a feeling they won't have aged well.
I'd love a new one.

Is there any way of getting old save files from a dead Switch?
A friend at work's Switch isn't powering up anymore and his daughter is distraught that she's lost her Animal Crossing island. He doesn't have Switch Online and I don't think he enabled Cloud saves.
Nintendo can sort it but it's roughly £160. Just wondered if there's an easier solution (I've not been able to find much online).
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I mean you'd have to pay more than that for a replacement switch, so I'd say just go for it if them sorting it involves fixing the switch too. I'm guessing they're pretty locked down to avoid save file editing and the likes, so not much hope of getting them off there manually (especially if you can't even power it on)

If everything was up to date before their old Switch died, and Island Backup was enabled in game, then they should be able to transfer the island to a new console (I don't think you need Switch Online for this either, as AC:NH isn't compatible with cloud saves anyway) www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-Switch/How-to-Transfer-Animal-Crossing-New-Horizons-Save-Data-to-a-New-Nintendo-Switch-Console-1875815.html[edit] bugger, you do need Online after reading further

Do they have a memory card in the Switch? Maybe game saves default to the memory card. Game dowloads definitely do. Thats all I can think of.

Nah, saves only go on internal memory even if you've got an SD card in it.

Thanks for the tips all!
- He actually might have Switch Online so there's a small chance of that - He ideally doesn't want to fix the Switch as it's fairly battered and he likes the OLED model

Time for the daughter to learn a valuable life lesson. The world is a horrible place and it's all downhill from here.

Wave Race 64 on Switch Online tomorrow. Can't bloody wait. I loved that game so much. I got it on a whim because the day my dad took me to buy an N64, Super Mario 64 was sold out. Didn't think I'd enjoy Pilotwings so went with Wave Race. Best water based racer ever made, and in the top 3 N64 racers overall too.

I can safely say that whilst that Kirby: Dream Buffet is mildly amusing with friends, its not worth 13 quid.
Just in case anyone was on the fence about it.

If you're happy to wait, I'd just hold out at this point in time tbh. The next Switch is almost certain to be out within the next 24 months, if not much earlier.
