That's a heck of a chunk of the game to play before giving up. He's not that bad when you get the patterns down.
Having said that I gave up on the last boss of MP3. The rest of the game was a piece of piss even on the "veteran" difficulty thanks to the aim controls, but that boss was a bugger.

Yeah, I tried it several times and failed. Then I would assume something new came out and I never went back to it.

Anyone tried Fire Emblem Warriors? I got the demo but haven't got around to trying it.

If this Metroid Prime remake does happen, I'm gonna miss the Wii remote contols. Being able to lock on to something, but having an independent aim was really underrated. I'd have loved more games tried that, rather than the current standard, in which your aiming and head movement are tied together in a sometimes nausiating twitch fest.
I don't think it would work so well with a standard controller though. Or a Joy Con.

Why would they get rid of motion controls as an option on a switch game?

Why would they get rid of motion controls as an option on a switch game? I'd be shocked if it didn't have gyro aiming.

Wimbledon on TV and Portal on portable OLED Switch is dreamy stuff. So chilled after a shite day at work 😂 What are the control options? Only played the first on PC and thought it needed the k&m pinpoint precision?

I would have, but I want to finally play Three Houses first (even if there is no connection story-wise after all, I don't know if there is) and I've kind of got some irl things taking up my time right now... I hear it's pretty good though, especially if you're into the Warriors style already.

Going to hazard a guess and say that it's probably like all the other Musou games. By all rights I should have liked the first one - Fire Emblem is one of the rare series that gets a 100% Day One purchase from me - but the Musou influence was far stronger than the FE influence.

Definitely doable though, but you might have a few comedy deaths here and there.

I played the first Portal on 360, then the sequel on PC and I still used a 360 controller. That game doesn't need mouse precision at all since it isn't a fast paced shooter, and the portals you shoot are massive anyway so you're shooting a general area rather than a precise spot.

It's mainly when you've got to whizz about on the faith plates and place portals mid flight that a mouse/kb comes in handy, but yeah, I play it on console or pc. Definitely not a showstopper, but also noticeable

Not played them for quite a while, but I recall Portal 2 diluted the need for shooting portals mid-air. It was never too bad in the original, but there were a few parts that I imagine would be noticeably trickier to do on a pad, although certainly not impossible. I can't imagine there is anything in the sequel that would be like that.

Yeah, it's more a luxury than a necessity. Or a playstyle choice. whatever

Why would they get rid of motion controls as an option on a switch game? Not motion control. Pointer control. The Joy con aren't great for it. They might include Gyro, which I'm a big fan of generally, but with the lock on it might not work as well.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about pulling off some of the trick shots and moves in Portal 1 on a pad. Portal 2 shouldn't be such an issue. I guess I could just boot up Portal 1 on PC and try that with a pad. Anyone seen Portal 2 will crossplay with the PC version?

Are you talking about the parts where you jump off ledges? I’ve nearly finished Portal 1 in handheld mode and it’s been a joy.

Keen for Wreckfest. How playable is it without analogue triggers?

Apparently you can use the right stick for acceleration and braking, but as an Xbox Series X player, that kind of finesse was not remotely essential.

Thanks. I thought it might be arcadey enough to not need the triggers. Using the analogue stick for throttle/brakes is fucking awful, no comparison to triggers.

Its definitely a step down compared to analog triggers. Last time I tried that set up was with the first F1 games on PS2!
It was also an option for Grid on Switch (if I remember correctly), but that is perfectly playable with digital triggers. I think they made some subtle changes to the acceleration and braking to compensate.

I'm addicted to portal again.
And it's fine on a controller - I know there's 2 levels later on that might frustrate me a bit, but I'll see when I get there. Completed it enough times on a controller anyway.

Phew Xenoblade just keeps on going. It's a special game but I don't think it would have harmed cutting about 20 hours

Just got to that level in portal 1 where I thought I'd need precision from the mouse, and it's fine - I was just being a tit
