Mario Odyssey 2 launch day for me please.
Set the worlds you visit in Hyrule, Phazon Mines, Lavender Town, DK Island, etc.
Easy money.

Prepare for disappointment.
Mario 64k. Mario 64 in 4K. Beautiful.

Eternal Darkness was great at the time, but I feel like dozens of indie horror games have done similar things since then, and I don't really remember or care about the specific lore or characters. So it doesn't feel like it needs an official sequel. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is well worth your time though, if you are after a Star Fox fix. Yeah, this is the Switch Starfox game, right?
Regularly drops to 7.49 as well, and doesn't need all the toys like it used to.
It's another Switch game on the wishlist...

Yeah! You get Starfox to play with. Tempted to give it a whirl again. A lot shat it on because Ubisoft.

So Switch confirmed as backwards compatible. Glad I held out on TOTK now.

Still doesn't necessarily mean they'll run any better, though. I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to have 1:1 performance.
Still, nice to have it confirmed finally!

I'm going to say that they'll want Ā£10 to get a performance increase.

I wonder if weāll see a resolution bump, but not a performance one.
Also, it seems like only certain titles were built with performance boosts in mind, such as Switch Sports, Splatoon 3, Paper Mario, etcā¦
I know we heard about Breath of the Wild, but I donāt think either Zelda game hinted at any performance-boosted scaling like those other games I mention.
(This is based entirely on my vague memory of said games being data-mined).

I just want it to sort Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom out. BotW has some performance issues but they don't bother me nearly as much as in those games. Will wait for the next console for those now

Won't it be a case of them re-releasing those games for the new console in order to get a performance bump? We know Nintendo guys.

Unless they are going to have a Switch chip inside it that old games will run on (which they did with Wii U for Wii support) and assuming the architecture is the same, it should give better performance just by the nature of it being more powerful hardware. It isn't going to make a 30fps locked game run at 60fps or give a resolution boost (other than making games with dynamic resolution more stable), as those would require individual changes to games, but it will certainly mean smoother games.

Maybe all the dynamic resolution games like Witcher 3 and Hellblade will suddenly get a free glow-up, just from all running at max resolution all the time.
But there's a whole bunch of cross-platform games like Hogwarts Legacy that got cut-down versions on Switch. I wonder if they'll release (for a price of course) the fuller versions on Switch 2.

I can see a lot of PS4 gen games getting ported to Switch 2. Not sure we'll see re-ports for things like The Witcher and Doom though, which is a shame. Kind of wish they'd waited on those. You can get Borderlands 2 and 3 on Switch, which would be amazing, but they look a bit/quite shit

The other important news is that Furukaw again confirmed "there is no change in the plan to announce it during the fiscal year ending March 2025", I'd like to think he wouldn't restate that this close to March '25. So we should at least know what it's all about within the next 5 months.

Allegedly the Batman games are now available individually on the eShop. Not sure what the performance is like for Asylum and City, but you wouldnāt surely expect anything less than 60fps at 1080p.

I always assume 30fps for anything not first party on Switch
The recent/current eShop sale has been really good. Picked up loads of stuff for near or under Ā£10

I'm going to say that they'll want Ā£10 to get a performance increase. Iām hoping that Sony havenāt managed to normalise this bullshit. Faint hope, but still. Because, as said many times, better than paying full price for a āremakeā. Aaaanyways I had to stop myself from buying all the Taiko no Tatsujin drumming accessories I saw in a store today. Oddly the confirmation of the long-expected Switch 2 backwards compatibility has reawakened my interest in my OG unit.

It wouldn't be beyond Nintendo to re-release the game for Switch 2, at full price. I'm almost certain we won't get this for free. In a weird way Microsoft have good the good guys, with this FPS boost.

Yeah, happy to be proven wrong, but Nintendo are the last company I'd expect to give out upgrades for free when there's a possibility of charging for them. We'll probably see free upgrades for third party games, but not Nintendo's own.

I was celebrating the opposite!
It's wild that the company who mandated green blood in the '90s now hosts a heap of smut.
