knighty It’s in development for the original Switch too, right? It’s going to sell well, but if it doesn’t have a significant upgrade on the new console, I can’t imagine it’ll do much to sway Pokémon fans to upgrade.

Get a Pokémon in there. That legends game has to be a launch one doesn’t it? Absent a new Zelda or a surprise Mario announcement (Galaxy 3 please and thank you!), I could see it. Maybe alongside the Xenoblade X remake that's very close to where BotW was in terms of release timing... knighty It’s in development for the original Switch too, right? Maybe, maybe not, but BotW was cross-platform as well and I don't think many people went "oh it's on the Wii U too, no reason to upgrade"

I mean a huge win would be them saying the Switch Zelda games are all 60fps. That is like a new game

Even if the launch lineup doesn't massively excite me I'll still be there day 1... I can't help it with Nintendo. The Switch has become my favourite console of all time, never in my life did I think I'd be saying that about a console in my 40s. I'm hoping for a new 3D Mario at launch...

Yeah, it’s been so good. Not just because of the software, which has arguably been Nintendo’s very best, but because of just how adaptable that device is. I fully expect the next Switch to support VR with a seperate head strap, which would make it a home console, portable console and VR console all in one.

I was being more tepid about a year ago, thinking I would likely wait a bit. As time went on though I realised I was kidding myself. I'll be day one, pretty much no matter what.
I expect they will launch with a 3D Mario and Metroid Prime 4 will surely be a launch title too. Wouldn't be surprised if most 2025 games have Switch 2 versions or will have significantly improved performance, so will likely hold off on Xenoblade X and that Pokémon Legend game, even if the games land before the system. So, I don't see there not being plenty to play on it.

Switch 2 will definitely be the generation they bring back Eternal Darkness, right?
...right?

Get a Pokémon in there. That legends game has to be a launch one doesn’t it? Does it look like a Wii game rather than a GameCube game? A telltale sign they've moved on to newer tech.

Switch 2 will definitely be the generation they bring back Eternal Darkness, right? ...right? But it plays badly guys. The controls are awful. The graphics my god the WORST.

Actually didn't Denis try to make a sequel to Eternal Darkness and it failed so badly.
"Shadow of the Eternals was launched on Kickstarter twice; the first was in June 2013 with the goal of $1,350,000. It was cancelled when the controversy started pouring in, although Precursor chief operating officer Shawn Jackson assured it was due to the studio wanting to scale down the project. The second Kickstarter was launched in August 2013 for $750,000.[12]"

It added to the suspense. I was taking the piss ha. It is a running theme when an old game gets re-released and it gets shat on for being.. old.

The sanity effects were excellent for their time. Some of the individual chapters were really good too. Others less so.
Really hasn't held up that well unfortunately.

Isn't there some weird patent/copyright thing that stops other games from using those sanity effects? I remember reading that somewhere, but it could be an urban myth.

Re: Star Fox, is there any particular reason why Nintendo haven't ported the Wii U game to Switch? I remember looking into it ages ago and the main issue seemed to be the controls. Surely they could fix that? Same with Kid Icarus - that was a good game ruined by terrible controls
Get them on Switch

Star Fox hasn't been good since Lylat Wars. Get F-Zero GX on there instead.

Probably not worth their effort, when Star Fox isn't a big seller these days.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is well worth your time though, if you are after a Star Fox fix.

Afraid not.
I just wanted to add one more thing about our requests for the Switch 2. That same screen glare tech the 3DS XL had. That thing was great. I’m trying to play Undead Nightmare on my day off and when the game goes dark, I can’t see a thing.
Gotta shut the curtains.
