Wise words mate. They all need another going over tbh, but a marked improvement. You’re inches away from JNats and kangaroo hide car horse butt strops and the complexities of push vs pull deburring. Good luck! Totally agree on the meditative side - I use time between meetings to go to the shed and sharpen any tool that looks remotely blunt. Calms me right down.

I suspect that lawnmower blade and long-handled edging shears may need the bench grinder. As and when I get a bench and get around to fixing it.

I can send you an almost endless supply of blades that need sharpening, as a treat

I can send you an almost endless supply of blades that need sharpening, as a treat I’m rubbish at gouges etc. and know nothing about leather work and imagine the tools need to be frighteningly sharp, but I’ll give it a go. Satisfaction or your money back!

I've been looking for a S/H bench grinder for £10 for about a year now on Markletplace, everyone is so darn tight though, don't they realise you can buy a cheapy new one for £25 so why the fuck would I pay £20 odd quid for some twenty year old deathtrap with no guards etc. I realise I could just stump up to the £25 but still. Gonna sharpen my mower and shredder blades so much the Coen brothers would be proud of me.

We got given one of those, tried it once to see but it’s completely pointless.

And on knifes, all chefs seem to recommend getting one decent knife, two at the most if you need one for boning fish.
Global were one Brand I saw recommended (which we have). They’rea reasonable price, you can sharpen them easily until they’reshit then get a new one. The total cost will be a fraction and just as good as a really expensive one after the first month of use.

Stick garlic plus skin in a Tupperware box, affix lid and shake like you’re having a fit. Peeled garlic cloves and exercise for your aging, saggy bingo wings.

You don't have to get a new Global you can just maintain them and they're as good as new.

You don't have to get a new Global you can just maintain them and they're as good as new. The lack of a bolster is a life saver. Bolsters suck.

I have a garlic roller thingy for convenience so you don’t get random things smelling of garlic all the time, but honestly most of the time just smash it with the flat side of the knife on a cutting board and you’re done.

My partner dropped one of our sabatier knives and it just broke in half. Now we have an empty slot in the knife block. And looking on their website I can't find a like for like replacement so whatever I get is going to stick out in the set. Annoying.

Sabatier isn’t a brand, there’s any number of companies using the name so you’re probably not on the right website

I daresay a wholesome ripe garlic it works but not the forced crap we're accustomed to from a typical UK supermarket?
