One of the screenshots shows him shooting a skeleton in the dick so there's probably going to be a bit of that Did it have a boner?

Has anyone here played through Into The Breach? It should be exactly my type of game but I've tried to get into it multiple times and cannot get to first base with the tactics. What am I missing?! Yeah, I'm a huge fan. What exactly are you having a problem with? Can you go into any more detail?

Yeah, I'm a huge fan. What exactly are you having a problem with? Can you go into any more detail? I just can't get my head around the move set- I think I'm trying to play it like x-com, and am maybe being over defensive, so my first moves quickly unravel and I don't feel like I have a plan when things inevitably go to shit. It's frustrating as I really think I'll be hooked when/if it clicks!

Ok. I'll try to not make this too tl;dr. But here are some random points: - Into the Breach isn't like x-com. In x-com, your main priority (aside from mission objectives) is not injuring your soldiers. In ITB, the priority should be all mission objectives first (you want those perfect island rewards), then buildings, then the health of your mechs. It's ok if they take damage in order to save a building, because mechs can be repaired, and your grid strength is harder to heal. Try not to let pilots die, though.
- This isn't really the sort of game where you can have a long-term plan for every mission. Instead, treat every turn like it's a little chess puzzle. You have perfect information about what enemies there are, what they are going to do, and what order they are going to do them in. You use that information to manipulate the board in ways that are favorable to you.
- That means that you don't necessarily have to kill all bugs that come out. At any difficulty above Easy, it's actually often impossible to kill everything. You just need to move the bugs out of the way, and ideally get them to block or attack each other.
- You can undo all your moves in a turn, as long as you don't commit to an attack. Use that to plan.
- Disable the DLC when you're starting out, because you don't want to make it too complicated.
- The Rift Walker squad you get at the start is very beginner-friendly, because all the mechs can do damage, and they can all push. Get some cores and upgrade the artillery mech so its shots don't damage buildings; it's very helpful!
- Do some of the squad achievements. They unlock other squads for you, but also get you to play the game in interesting ways. They're a teaching tool!
- Assuming that your grid strength isn't critical, getting reputation (the stars) is more important than getting grid strength. Reputation lets you buy better weapons and cores to upgrade your mechs (which you will need if you plan to do all four main islands), and you can even buy grid strength with it if you need to.
That's probably enough for now. Overall, it gets a lot easier when you start unlocking some of the better pilots. You get those from time pods and/or perfect island rewards.

No worries.
One more thing: try to avoid train missions if you can. They're unreasonably difficult unless you're using the ice mechs.

Embracer just bought everyone. Check your inbox, maybe you were bought too.
I suppose someone might start an acquisitions thread soon...

Just seen that they've acquired a new studio but are not announcing who. Weird.

Didn't think I'd get to reuse Cats twice in as many days.

Can someone buy Eighting already, and then re-release Sokyugurentai?

I can't believe that Dead Island 2 actually still exists, and I also can't believe that it looks like the game I wanted Dying Light 2 to be.

Just chaotic.

I think I posted about Pinocchio simulator "Lies of P" in the PS5 thread - maybe it'll get its own depending on reviews, given that this is what it looks like:

It's probably a Pinocchio Souls, but I'm hoping it's more of a Pinocchio May Cry.

IGN said the dev team worked on Monster Hunter World, so could be an interesting mash-up of mechanics.

This continues to look ace Yep, hope it turns out well. Wondering how the default difficulty will turn out. They were talking as if it's going to be pretty challenging.

I was wondering what people were going on about. I thought it was about Steelrising.

Mount & Blade 2 finally showing up for console peasants late Oct. I'm delighted, been a while since there's something I really wanted to play.

Played that multiversus. Yeah that's not for me. Just chaotic. Had a similar experience. In fairness, the more I played, the easier everything became to follow, but I just never went back to it

Just looks like a Bloodborne clone to me. Feel like I've seen it all before If it does include some of the Monster Hunter World devs, those mechanics are very similar to Souls games. But I have had my fill of both series, so it doesn't appeal to me anyway.
